MaxO2 works with individuals and groups to improve functional breathing and sports performance. We base our teaching on the Buteyko breathing method and the principles of the Oxygen Advantage.
Together we will improve your functional breathing, to use all of your lungs, make breathing easier and improving oxygen levels in your blood and its release to working muscles.
The exercises we use will help with health matters such as asthma, anxiety and sleep apnea. Better, more controlled breathing will bring better preparation for presentations, exams and sports performance.

The maxO2 methods are based on the established scientifically developed bukeyto breathing principles. These principles are published in the best selling book ‘the oxygen advantage’. The applied methods have been researched, developed and tested on thousands of clients.
These methods and the benefits they generate are for everyone. Developing beneficial habits that are based on high quality training will give anyone a boost in their energy levels, better control in high pressure situations, lower blood pressure and better sleep.
We deliver group sessions across a collection of selected partner locations. Being Brighton based, these partners focus on that area, but we also have partner locations across Sussex and elsewhere. We tend to travel further for larger groups and half-day workshops.
Max O2 will deliver classes up to 10 people or one-to-one. Classes can be arranged at one of our partner locations or at your location, perhaps for your work or sports team after evening training. One-to-one sessions can be delivered in private settings in partner locations.
Breath holding (hypoxic training) while exercising, creates a load on the cardio-vascular system, that when repeated creates a positive adaptation in the body. Your body becomes more efficient in the transfer and use of oxygen, creating better sports performance and cardiovascular function. The ability to hold your breath is an important measure or marker for the method applied. Breath holding exercises are a feature of the oxygen advantage method, but these are only applied when a client is ready and not when pregnant.
The Vim Hoff methodology focusses on respiratory alkalosis (heavy breathing), hypoxic training (breath holds) and the famous ice baths. Ice baths have been proven to be beneficial as has hypoxic training.
