For this project, our group wanted to create a scooter that was fun and novel. After much deliberation, we decided the best way to increase the "fun factor" was to create a multi-person scooter.
Our final design combined the single-person Swivel Scooter and the tea cup amusement ride, with the idea being that users could ride side-by-side in a straight line, or spin around each other.

Improvements:Â
Make the design collapsable to afford portability
Modify the design such that scooters can be used individually
Add brakes
Use stronger materials (ex: aluminum, steel, plastic…)
Struggles:
Front-wheel attachment
The wood used was not strong and was therefore unable to withstand operating forces
Buying the correct type and amount of materials
Maximizing the small budget we had and minimizing the trips to the hardware store
Key Takeaways:
An ambitious and creative idea is important to drive a motivated team towards reaching the project goal
Communication and brainstorming with each other is key
