How is Machine Learning Useful for Macroeconomic Forecasting? (with Philippe Goulet-Coulombe, Dalibor Stevanovic and Stéphane Surprenant)
Work in progress
Macroeconomic Forecasting Using the Random Forest Kernel. In this project I use the different variants of the Random Forest Kernel to introduce parameter variation in common macroeconomic forecasting models.
Zooming In Monetary Policy in Canada. In this research project, I explore the role of the cost channel and the credit channel of monetary policy transmission in generating heterogeneous investment dynamics across Canadian provinces. I also look into the importance of firm destruction in employment fluctuations following a monetary policy tightening.
