As a Business Analyst (BA) and Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) for the NAST Analytics & Sciences team at Amazon Operations, I support cross-functional teams and provide insights to drive improvements across various fields in the Amazon middle mile logistics network.
While on the NAST Analytics & Sciences team, my primary responsibility was collaborating with internal operations stakeholders to provide program insights and maintain front-end reporting infrastructure. This involved connecting with teams across roles, levels, and business functions, and ultimately delivering results at scale.
I was the primary owner of the gate metrics dashboards, where I supported metrics around gate and yard performance. This included hardware uptime and accuracy, pre-registration, average check in times, and yard utilization among others. I became a subject matter expert in the space and worked with the hardware TOM technicians, carrier performance teams, and upstream YAT software team to refine metric logic, add additional granularity, and better identify problematic sites.
In Q2 of 2023 I took over the gate queue metric, which tracks how many assets are waiting in front of amazon yards at any given time. I developed real-time automated alerting to proactively notify sites of high queues. The metric has an annual entitlement of $13.87MM.
During Q4 of 2023 I created the seal verification dashboard with key stakeholders to identify and track potential fraud incidents across the 400+ sites in the Amazon NA network. This project had an annual entitlement of $30.5MM and tracks process compliance and trailer anomalies for over 50 daily active users.
In 2024 I pivoted to the BIE role where I focused more on technical components like scripting and automation. I built a Tampermonkey script with AI assistance to notify associates of seal verification requests. This gave new real time visibility into urgent requests. Additionally I developed the Trailer Touchpoint Archive (TTP) a centralized dataset and dashboard aggregating all trailer interactions (hostler moves, DVIRs, repairs, inspections) for maintenance and fraud insights.
