Mavuika is a Limited 5 Star Pyro Claymore character in Genshin Impact and the eagerly awaited Pyro Archon. Thanks to her synergy with other Natlan characters and their stance on the current Meta, Mavuika makes a perfect addition to both On-Field and Off-Field teams, where she can be the On-Field Pyro DPS ceiling or a strong Off-Field Pyro applicator thanks to her personal buffs and artifact access. That being said, there's nuances to talk about in both roles, as such, this guide serves as a tool to address these scenarios, detailing her different playstyles, teams and how to build her for each of them.
First we will explain her kit: her Talents, her Ascension Passives and her Constellations. Then, we will then give you an overview of her roles, strengths and weaknesses, so that you can read the rest of the guide with some perspective on her place in the game.
Following this section, we will go into the specifics about the differences of each of one of the roles that she can accommodate for in a team and how she fares to other units that are relevant in the Meta and are played into those roles, alongside listing her strengths and weaknesses, that way, you can read the rest of the guide with some amount of perspective on her place in the game.
Next, we will go into details about her Weapon options, followed by her Artifact set recommendations and last but not least, we'll explain in detail each of the potential team archetypes she can be used, alongside giving a moderate explanation on individual characters that fit these archetypes and how they are meant to be played alongside Mavuika.
We hope you find this guide useful and that you enjoy our long awaited precious redhead Pyro Archon as much as we do!
Besides, we love older woman and Redheads around here.
Performs up to 4 consecutive attacks, consumes 50 Stamina to perform a Charged Attack.
Generally speaking, it's discouraged to level up her Normal Attack talent since most of her own damage output comes from her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. You can keep this talent Level at 1 unless you're going for a Triple Crown. -As you should-
Mavuika's Normal and Charged Attacks will change in her Flamestrider form, dealing Nightsoul-Aligned Pyro Damage, alongside having a different kit of animations.
Using this Skill in any of it's forms will fill up Mavuika's Nightsoul Points bar, which is 80 points at C0 and 120 at C1. Simultaneously, this Skill will activate Mavuika's Nightsoul Blessing, which allows you to switch between her Tap and Hold forms freely. This Skill has a 16s cooldown.
Tap: It creates a Ring called "Ring of Searing Radiance" at the back of Mavuika that will attack nearby opponents each 2s and has no ICD. This Ring duration is based on Mavuika's Nightsoul Points, consuming 5 points each second and another 3 points are used when it attacks. Generally speaking, this Ring will manage to attack 6 times at C0 in 12s and 9 times at C1 in 18s before Mavuika's Nightsoul Points bar is depleted. C1 can have 100% uptime.
Hold: Mavuika will ride her Flamestrider, a bike that Mavuika can ride in and outside of combat. Mavuika can deal damage by running into enemies and her Normal and Charged Attack are converted to Pyro. It is not recommended to use this form outside of her Elemental Burst since it enhances it's damage significantly.
Passive: Mavuika doesn't use Energy Recharge. Instead, her Burst is charged by generating Fighting Spirit. You can generate it by using Nightsoul Points or by using Normal Attacks (these two also count when performed by teammates). The Nightsoul Points to Fighting Spirit conversion is 1:1, while you get 1.5 points per Normal Attack with a 0.1s cooldown. The maximum amount of points you can have is 200.
Cast: In order to use Mavuika's Burst, you'll need to accumulate at least 100 points of Fighting Spirit, although it's recommended to accumulate as much as you can since these will convert into damage for her Normal and Charged Attacks. Once used, Mavuika will gain 10 Nightsoul Points perform a strong single attack called Sunfell Slice, and it's damage will increase depending on her Fighting Spirit points. After this strong attack, Mavuika will activate Nighsoul Blessing, riding her Flamestrider and all her Fighting Spirit points will be converted into extra damage to her Normal and Charged Attacks while in this amplified form. This amplified form will last for 7 seconds.
At C0, Mavuika by herself will have a hard time to generate enough Fighing Spirit points to cast her Burst, and although C1 allows her to cast it by herself, it's highly encouraged to play Mavuika alongside other Natlan characters since her kit is strongly tailored around them.
Each time a team member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Mavuika's ATK increases by 30% for 10s. This passive encourages her to be played with other Natlan characters thanks to how Nightsoul Burst works.
✹ Nightsoul Burst will trigger whenever you deal Elemental Damage to an enemy. This generally empowers Natlan characters kits, and it's cooldown is reduced the more Natlan characters you have in your team. E.G: 1/2/3 or more characters from Natlan will yield a 18/12/9s Nightsoul Burst cooldown, so 2 teammates from Natlan will give you a 100% uptime for this buff, for a total of 3 Natlan characters in your team. After Mavuika user her Elemetal Burst, all Fighting Spirit points will be "stored" and transferred to the active team member when they're switched in, each point giving an extra 0.2% DMG up to a maximum of 40%. This effect lasts for 20s and decays over that duration until it reaches 0%.
✹ The decay part of this Ascension Passive is removed if you have Mavuika's C4.The party's Nightsoul Transmission cooldown is decreased by 20%.
✹ Nightsoul Transmission allows you to quickly switch another Natlan character while traversing/exploring Natlan, activating their special exploration ability while switching. E.G: You're using Yae Miko and decide to switch to Xilonen. She immediately uses her skates during the switch animation. This is useful for Natlan exploration. This is Mavuika's Nightsoul Transmission. Whenever she's switched in and Nightsoul Transmission is not on cooldown, she'll enter her Flamestrider form alongside her Nightsoul Blessing state and half of her Nightsoul Points Bar is pre-filled. She'll start riding her Bike and is able to traverse, climb, hover over water or even fly for a few seconds. This passive has a 10s cooldown.
✹ Nightsoul Transmission is limited to Natlan region.Mavuika's maximum Nightsoul Points are increased to 120, and she gains Fighting Spirit 25% more efficiently. Additionally, she gains 40% ATK for 8s after gaining Fighting Spirit.
➤ Even though this constellation can technically allow Mavuika to use her Burst by herself, it wouldn't happen without a few hiccups, regardless, this constellation will help Mavuika's Fighting Spirit generation a lot, especially for teams that only have one Natlan character besides Mavuika. On top of that, the ATK buff is virtually a 100% uptime buff and her Skill can have 100% uptime for Off-Field Mavuika, providing relatively slow but consistent Pyro Application.
✹ This constellation is roughly a 11~% DPS increase over C0.During Mavuika's Nightsoul's Blessing state, she'll gain 200 base ATK, alongside a few buffs for her Skill.
Tap: Nearby enemies DEF is decreased by 20% as long as there's a Ring created by Mavuika.
Hold: Mavuika's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and her Sunfell Slice from the Elemental Burst deal 60%, 90%, and 120% of her ATK as increased DMG respectively.
➤ The increased damage from her Flamestrider form, the DEF shred during her Tap form while she's not riding her Flamestrider and the extra base ATK make this constellation valuable for players that wanted to pull extra constellations. Unfortunately the DEF shred is not applied to her Elemental Burst since the Ring is removed once her Burst is casted, but still a strong tool. Also, the base ATK increase makes Bennett lose some value for Mavuika's teams but he's still a good overall teammate option.
!!! This constellation is the recommended stopping point if you'd like to pull for a few constellations but not all of them.
Mavuika's Elemental Burst Talent level is increased by 3 and her maximum level is upgraded to 15.
✹ This constellation is roughly a 8~% DPS increase over C2 and a 65~% total DPS increase from C0 to C3.Mavuika's Asencion 4 Passive Talent gets an upgrade. The extra damage transfered from her Fighting Spirit points to their switched teammates no longer decays over time, and they receive a 10% DMG Bonus on top of it.
➤ A nice bonus for Mavuika's supportive abilities, but it's not a huge change to her kit. If you planned to pull for this constellation, it's better to either settle with C2 or C6.
✹ This constellation is roughly a 8~% DPS increase over C3 and a 80~% total DPS increase from C0 to C4.Mavuika's Elemental Skill Talent level is increased by 3 and her maximum level is upgraded to 15.
✹ This constellation is roughly a 7~% DPS increase over C4 and a 92~% total DPS increase from C0 to C5.Mavuika's Elemental Skill will gain another upgrade based on her form:
Tap: Whenever one of her Ring's attacks strikes an opponent, another coordinated attack will be activated alongside it, dealing 200% of Mavuika's ATK as AoE Pyro Damage.
Hold: During her Flamstrider form, Mavuika will also gain a Ring from Tap form, providing a 20% DEF decrease to nearby enemies and this Ring deals 500% of Mavuika's ATK as AoE Pyro DMG every 3s.
Additionally, Mavuika's terraing-crossing abilities are enhanced. Whenever Mavuika is not in combat and she's riding her Flamestrider, if her Nightsoul Points drop to 5, she'll immediately will gain another 80 Nightsoul Points. This effect has a 15s cooldown.
➤ This constellation is a massive DPS increase for Mavuika, allowing her to always have her DEF reduction active while she's on her Flamestrider form, alongside with having extra damage sources that she can count with. On top of it, her exploration capabilities are vastly improved. It is worth noting that the additional damage from her c6 does not apply pyro.
✹ This constellation is roughly a 31~% DPS increase over C5 and a 153~% total DPS increase from C0 to C6.Thanks to Mauvika's Skill Forms, she can be used reliably both as an On-Field and Off-Field addition to an account, albeit with some considerations to take into account to decide which one is more suited for you.
In the following segment, we'll list these considerations so you can choose which style makes sense for your account
On-Field:
➤ As of 5.3 patch, Mavuika is currently the On-Field DPS ceiling of Pyro. This is specially true when she's played alongside her preferred teammates, making her a strong character option for the players that are willing to build around her. On top of this, her kit is relatively easy to execute and offers some QoL tools such as inherent Interruption Resistance for her preferred combos, alongside eliminating Energy Recharge requirements thanks to her Fighting Spirit mechanic.
➤ In contrast, her On-Field DPS version is preferably played alongside other Natlan characters, especially ones that tie into her kit, such as Xilonen or Citlali to list a few relevant but strong teammates. This is due to her Nightsoul Burst dependent buffs and her own Fighting Spirit mechanic that replaces her Energy Recharge, which is dependent on the team's Nightsoul Points consumption. It's recommended to play her On-Field version with at least one Natlan teammate, but two is preferred. Mavuika's C1 can help with this due to the extra Fighting Spirit generation, but it wouldn't be recommended to pull this constellation solely for that purpose unless you're aiming for her C2.
Off-Field:
➤ Mavuika's Off-Field capabilities represent a comfortable Off-Field Pyro applicator that doesn't need to be built around Energy Recharge restrictions for said application and having a strong buff thanks to her Ascension 4 passive that can be used by other On-Field attackers, alongside having dealing a sizeable amount of damage thanks to her initial Burst hit and Off-Field attacks. For the most part, she's a strong upgrade to Xiangling but there's nuances to take into consideration for this point, refer to the next paragraphs and the next guide segment for more info about it.
➤ Her Off-Field Pyro application is relatively slow, hitting enemies each 2s, while characters like Xiangling can apply it in 1.5s or less thanks to -> "Backhanding" her Elemental Burst. For most teams, this is not a problem, but it becomes a consideration for Mualani/Double Hydro teams. Mavuika's Skill duration is 12s, while Xiangling's C4+ gives her Burst a 14s duration, this also shouldn't be a problem for most scenarios but it's worth pointing out. Mavuika's C1 increase her Skill duration to 18s, and giving it a virtual 100% uptime since her Skill cooldown (15s) becomes lower than her Skill duration, but yet again, it's not recommended to pull her C1 solely for this.
➤ Depending on available teammates and Mavuika's investment, this playstyle would be recommended over On-Field Mavuika, which is still a strong role to play in multiple teams, specially teams that have Normal Attack based On-Field attackers that can help with her Fighting Spirit generation, like Clorinde or Arlecchino to list a few. On top of that, depending on the team, Mavuika can be the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder, which is a strong Artifact set that will provide strong buffs to the team. Off-Field Mavuika is a strong choice that shouldn't be overlooked by her remarkable On-Field capabilities.
Given the amount of viable Pyro units currently in the game, and the bound-to-be asked questions that a good portion of the player-base is going to have, we decided that it would be best to address some of the common questions about Mavuika compared to other Pyro units in this segment. The main point of this segment is to not focus on Damage, although this point inevitably has to be mentioned since it's relevant to the topic, we want to share nuances and details about each character to take into consideration.
➤ As of 5.3 patch, Mavuika is currently the On-Field DPS ceiling of Pyro. Fortunately, this is not everything to mention about her, since her kit is also tailored to have Off-Field presence that is not restricted by Energy Recharge, making her an interesting and viable choice for other On-Field DPS's, on top of that, her Fighting Spirit buffs will improve other DPS's damage output, making her an overall strong choice for both On-Field and Off-Field roles. Mavuika's main "problem" is the inherent restrictions she has when it comes to team-building, especially for On-Field Mavuika, as part of her kit is tied to being fielded alongside other Natlan characters that can help her generate Fighting Spirit points and Nightsoul Burst uptime, although this can be compensated in teams with heavily-based On-Field Normal/Charged Attackers. This doesn't mean Mavuika cannot be used outside of Natlan teams, as she's comfortably strong to be used in most teams, but On-Field Mavuika teams will struggle to generate Fighting Spirit and take full advantage of her kit.
It is worth mentioning that as time passes, these character restrictions might seem more and more reasonable thanks to more Natlan characters being introduced to the game.
➤ One of the main reasons why this segment is even a thing. Xiangling has been the staple Off-Field Pyro applicator since 1.0, she's been a fundamental piece for multiple Melt/Vape based teams thanks to her fast Pyro application alongside decent personal damage, with the drawback that she always had tight Energy Recharge requirements.
Given the introduction of Mavuika, the inherent comparison of Xiangling vs Mavuika is bound to brought up when it comes to Off-Field Pyro application and for the most part, Mavuika is the winner of this discussion thanks having better personal damage for Off-Field, not being reliant on Energy Recharge, having access to strong supportive artifact sets like Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City and her Fighting Spirit Ascension 4 buff is a substantial buff to other On-Field units.
On the other hand, Mavuika's Pyro application is slower than Xiangling Pyro application, making Xiangling more value in teams that require faster application from a Pyro user, like Mualani/Double Hydro teams. On top of that, Xiangling C4 makes her have a longer Off-Field Pyro application uptime than C0 Mavuika.
Xiangling still has a place in the game, as she's a strong unit on her own right, but Mavuika can represent an upgrade over most teams where both of them would want to be fielded as an Off-Field applicator. Specific teams where Xiangling still shines include International due to her rapid Pyro application, and any team with the Raiden Shogun, as Xiangling's high Burst cost is beneficial in those teams.
➤ Arlecchino is a strong On-Fielder Normal/Charged Attack based character that was released in 4.6, basing her kit on a relative "feast-or-famine" play style thanks to not being able to be healed beyond her own Elemental Burst. A solid choice for any account that needs an On-Field Pyro unit.
When it comes to comparing Arlecchino and Mavuika, the damage discussion is won by Mavuika, but Arlecchino is not far behind and represents a more flexible On-Fielder that doesn't have as many team-building constrictions as Mavuika does, making her a character that could complement your account to a better extent, instead of building a team from 0.
Arlecchino's power is still relevant and she can comfortably clear Abyss with a relatively reasonable team built around her strengths.
➤ The staple On-Field Pyro Attacker since 1.2 until recently, Hu Tao has been a character that has gone through multiple team iterations and possible comps that showed how strong Vape/Melt teams could be from early versions.
Similar to Arlecchino, comparing Hu Tao and Mavuika in terms of damage makes Mavuika win the argument, but similar to Arlecchino, Hu Tao represents a more flexbile On-Fielder, on top of that, she has a higher skill ceiling than both Arlecchino and Mavuika, making her potentially more rewarding to learn for the people that are interested in a kit that rewards tight and proper execution.
Similar to Arlecchino's situation, Hu Tao power is also still relevant and she can comfortably clear Abyss with a relatively reasonable team built around her strengths.
➤ Thoma has gained some significance due to the introduction of Burgeon, alongside being a Normal Attack buffer and Shielder for On-Field attackers, which is where Thoma thrives.
Overall Mavuika serves as a suitable Thoma replacement for teams that need an non-defensive Off-Field Pyro applicator, such as Wriothesley Burn-Melt, Clorinde Overload, and Burgeon teams. Mavuika is easier to use due to her lack of Energy Recharge requirements, unlike Thoma, who is especially Energy Recharge hungry pre-C4, but Thoma offers more Pyro application uptime. When comparing their buffs, Mavuika's Fighting Spirit buff for the On-Field damage character offers more to the table than Thoma's C6 Normal Attack buff.
In Clorinde teams, both characters have pros. With a C1+ Thoma, rotations can be shortened by one second (17s Burst Cooldown vs 18s for Mavuika's), alongside being able to trigger Fischl's Ascension 4 and defensive capabilities for Clorinde which are appreciated, especially pre-C2. Mavuika offers significantly higher personal damage, but at the cost of a slightly longer rotation and wanting to switch out Fischl for Ororon, who typically does less damage.
In Burgeon teams, Thoma's ability to stack high amounts of Elemental Mastery is restricted by his Energy Recharge requirements, while Mavuika can for-go Energy Recharge requirements. Thoma's shield is meaningful in these teams as Burgeon can do a non-negligible amount of damage to the On-Field character and he has a higher uptime than Mavuika (18s at C2 vs Mavuika's 12s at C0). In Kinich Burgeon teams or any teams that do not involve Normal Attacks, Mavuika is the clear winner, but in other Burgeon teams, Thoma may offer more value.
Fortunately, Mavuika's options for weapons are quite diverse, but there's a clear margin between her Signature Weapon and the rest of the bunch. Mavuika's choice for weapons doesn't change between her On-Field vs Off-Field capabilities, but there's interesting things to point out if she's playing as part of an Elemental Reaction based team, specially if you don't own her Signature Weapon.
Base ATK: 741
Sub-Stat: 11.0% CRIT Rate
Mavuika's Signature Weapon. Whenever an Elemental Skill or Burst is used, CRIT DMG is increased by 20% and ATK by 28% for 6s. The "Scorching Brilliance" passive is activated and has a 10s cooldown. On top of that, whenever this passive is active, it's duration can be extended by 2s each time a Normal or Charged attack deals Elemental Damage, this effect can trigger once every second and it extends it's duration up to a maximum of 6s.
Additionally, when the equipping character is in the Nightsoul Blessing state, "Scorching Brilliance" effects are increased by 75%, and its duration will not count down when the equipping character is off-field.
➤ Given the high base Attack of this weapon, combined with it's 11% CRIT Rate and a total of 35% CRIT DMG and 49% ATK and how easy it is for Mavuika to both activate and extend the duration of this weapon, it's indisputably her Best In Slot.
✹ This weapon is about 25~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 608
Sub-Stat: 33.1% CRIT Rate
After the holder's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, their ATK will be increased by 20%, and whenever the holder take damage, their ATK will be increased by another 20%. These buffs can exists simultaneously and even apply when the character is not on-field. Additionally, while the holder is not being protected by a shield, their HP is increased by 32%.
➤ This weapon decently-high base ATK and it's juicy CRIT Rate, alongside it's buffs make it a perfect option for Mavuika if you'd rather save your weapon pulls for something else and you already have this weapon in your account. Keep in mind that one of the ATK buffs are conditional to being hit, so it's uptime might vary depending on both execution and enemies. Keep in mind your CRIT Rate total value if you're using this weapon alongside the Obsidian Codex artifact set as it is easy to overcap on CRIT RATE when using Beacon.
✹ This weapon is about 8~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 674
Sub-Stat: 22.1% CRIT Rate
Increases ATK by 20%. Any time that a character in our party obtains an Elemental Shard created from a Crystallize reaction, the character holding this weapon will gain a Seal, increasing Elemental Skill DMG by 18%. The Seal lasts for 15s and holder of this weapon might have up to 2 Seals at any time. Whenever the holder's Elemental Skill deals DMG, these seals will disappear after 0.2s
➤ Thanks to it's high Base ATK and it's decent CRIT Rate, alongside it's ATK buff, this weapon is another solid option for Mavuika. The Seal mechanic is relatively easy to be played around thanks to Xilonen, allowing Mavuika to gain at least one Shard. However, Elemental Skill DMG is relatively small amount of Mavuika's damage if she is played On-field.
✹ This weapon is about 6~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 542
Sub-Stat: 88.2% CRIT DMG
The holder's DEF is increased by 28% and their Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 40% of their DEF.
➤ Despite having a relatively low base ATK for a 5* weapon, the sheer amount of CRIT DMG you get from this weapon, alongside it's passive that ties really well into Mavuika's kit compensate for its base ATK, also having a good synergy with Obsidian Codex builds as it is easier to build around Mavuika's CRIT Rate. Overall a decent option if you already have it in your account.
✹ This weapon is about 6~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 741
Sub-Stat: 11.0% CRIT Rate
The holder gains 1 stack of Canopy's Favor after hitting an opponent with an Elemental Skill, this can be triggered once every 0.5s. After a nearby party member triggers a Burning or Burgeon reaction, the equipping character will gain 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 2s and can be triggered even when the triggering party member is off-field. Canopy's Favor: Elemental Skill and Burst DMG is increased by 10% for 6s. Max 6 stacks. Each stack is counted independently.
➤ Thanks to it's high base ATK, the CRIT Rate and it's potential up to 60% Elemental Skill and Burst extra DMG, this weapon is also a good 5* alternative, as Mavuika can reasonably stack this weapon, even when not being played in Burning-Burgeon teams.
✹ This weapon is about 5~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 608
Sub-Stat: 49.6% ATK
Increases ATK by 20%. Whenever you attack an opponent that has less than 30% Max HP, this weapon will increase all party members' ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.
➤ This weapon is virtually an ATK stick. Its passive can be unreliable, but can be a nice boost to everyone in the team in the off-chance that it's activated before an Abyss Chamber is cleared.
✹ This weapon is about 4~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 510
Sub-Stat: 27.6% CRIT Rate
Every 4s the equipping character is on-field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.
➤ A strong Battle Pass option, especially if you have some refinements. The DMG boost you can get from this weapon is quite substantial, alongside it's high CRIT Rate, but keep in mind this might be hard to build around if you're using a Obsidian Codex set.
✹ This weapon is about 2~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 608
Sub-Stat: 49.6% ATK
Increases Shield Strength by 20%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
➤ It's similar to other ATK stat-sticks like WSG in terms of performance, and Mavuika's usual preferred team compositions allow her to be protected by a shield somewhat consistently.
✹ This weapon is about 2~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R1.Base ATK: 510
Sub-Stat: 41.3% ATK
After the wielder is healed, ATK will be increased by 48% for 8s. This can be triggered even when the character is off-field.
➤ This is Mavuika's best F2P option as a generalist weapon. It's passive is also not hard to activate in Mavuika's usual team archetypes and it's ATK% substat is well used for her kit.
✹ This weapon's R5 is the baseline as it's her best F2P & easy to acquire weapon. All other weapons will be compared to this weapon.Base ATK: 565
Sub-Stat: 110 Elemental Mastery
Within 8s after the character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent or the character triggers an Elemental Reaction, their ATK and Elemental Mastery will be increased by 24% and 96 respectively.
➤ This Mavuika's best F2P option for Vape/Melt comps, as the Elemental Mastery will help a lot with the damage created by Elemental Reactions caused by Mavuika. Unfortunately, this weapon was only acquirable during the 3.5 version.
✹ Rainslasher R5 is a similar option but it's restricted to Vape teams and barely outperforms Tidal Shadows R5, so it's only recommended in the extreme scenario where it's R5 and you don't have billets for Tidal Shadow.
✹ This weapon is about 2~% better than Tidal Shadow R5 at R5 for Reaction-Based teams, otherwise stick to Tidal Shadow.✹ Rainslasher R5 is a similar option to this weapon but it's restricted to Vape teams and barely outperforms Tidal Shadows R5, so it's only recommended in the niche scenario where it's R5 and you don't have billets for Tidal Shadow.
Base ATK: 565
Sub-Stat: 18.4% CRIT Rate
ATK will be increased by 16% for 15s after being affected by Pyro. This effect can be triggered once every 12s. All Elemental DMG Bonus will be increased by 12% for 15s after being affected by Hydro, Cryo, Electro, or Dendro. This effect can be triggered once every 12s.
➤ Despite being a BP option, it's discouraged to use it as for the most part you won't have access to the full passive of this weapon, alongside being tied to Bennett to reliably self-apply Pyro to it's holder. If you're spending to get BP, Serpent Spine is a better option.
✹ This weapon has around equal performance with Tidal Shadow R5 at R1 when ATK% buff is active.➤ As of 5.3, Mavuika's preferred artifact sets to farm are a worthwhile investment, since both Obsidian Codex and Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact sets can be acquired from the same domain, making it a Resin Effective domain. Obsidian Codex is generally speaking her preferred artifact set for most scenarios, but Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set could be used for an Off-Field Mavuika, considering the substantial buffs to the team this artifact set provides will upset Mavuika's DPS loss for this playstyle. Despite all of this, we recommend saving your Fragile Resins until a new artifact set domain is announced since Mavuika might get a dedicated artifact set.
Sands: Elemental Mastery (EM) if played in Reaction based teams, otherwise ATK%. This point really boils down to hitting a "Soft Cap" of 200-250 EM in your build, be it through an EM Sands or Artifact Sub-Rolls. If you have any doubts about which one to use if you already hit the "Soft Cap", refer to -> Genshin Optimizer, as the answer to that question becomes an "It Depends" situation. If you want a universal build for her, use an ATK% Sands instead.
Circlet: CRIT, if you're using an Obsidian Codex artifact set, use a CRIT DMG% piece as it's easy to overcap Mavuika's CRIT Rate%, otherwise, as long you're not using other artifacts that alter your CRIT Values, try to maintain a 1:2 ratio.
Goblet: Pyro DMG Bonus%
✹ Sub-Stat Priority: CRIT Values > EM == ATK% > Flat ATK, if played on a non-Reaction based team, EM can be ignored. CRIT RATE should only be up to 60% if using Obsidian Codex.
2-Piece: While the equipping character is in Nightsoul's Blessing state and is on the field, their DMG dealt is increased by 15%.
4-Piece: After the equipping character consumes 1 Nightsoul Point while on the field, CRIT Rate increases by 40% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every second.
➤ As a character that consumes Nightsoul Points and deals damage, Obsidian Codex is Mavuika's current go-to set to use. There is a wrinkle to using the set though, as Mavuika stops consuming Nightsoul Points during her Burst. This means that the 6s duration of the CRIT Rate from the 4-Piece bonus will run out before her Burst ends. However, this doesn’t change the fact that Obsidian Codex is still the optimal set for her personal damage.
✹ This artifact set will be used as her baseline to compare other artifacts both on-field and off-field.2-Piece: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%.
4-Piece: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.
➤ A slightly worse version of Obsidian Codex that needs Furina in the team to activate the 4-Piece. A strong temporary option to use in a Furina Vape team while farming for Codex. Not recommended outside of Furina Vape teams.
✹ This artifact set is roughly 3~% worse than Obsidian Codex for on-field Mavuika.2-Piece: Gain Pyro DMG Bonus +15%.
4-Piece: Increases Overloaded and Burning, and Burgeon DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using Elemental Skill increases the 2-Piece Set Bonus by 50% of its starting value for 10s. Max 3 stacks.
➤ Crimson Witch can be used as a temporary option in Melt or Vape teams while farming for Obsidian Codex pieces. This set will also likely be the best set for getting big screenshot damage from her Burst cast. Not recommended to farm Crimson Witch for Mavuika specifically, but a good option nonetheless.
✹ This artifact set is roughly 8~% worse than Obsidian Codex for on-field Mavuika.2-Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4-Piece: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects while off-field.
➤ Gilded Dreams is another set that can be used as a temporary option in Melt or Vape teams. Depending on the teammates you use, you'll get less or more value from this artifact set, but it's still a good placeholder choice until you acquire a decent Obsidian Codex set.
✹ This artifact set is roughly 9~% worse for on-field and 11~% worse for off-field Mavuika compared to Obsidian Codex .2-Piece: When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, the equipping character regenerates 6 Elemental Energy.
4-Piece: After the equipping character triggers a reaction related to their Elemental Type, all nearby party members gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the Elemental Reaction for 15s. If the equipping character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state when triggering this effect, all nearby party members gain an additional 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the Elemental Reaction for 20s. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field, and the DMG bonus from Artifact Sets with the same name do not stack.
➤ Scroll will be her best set when played in a supportive role instead of the main on-field character. The 40% DMG bonus the set can provide for all Pyro characters as well as all characters with the same element as your on fielder is very powerful.
✹ This artifact set is roughly 15~% worse than Obsidian Codex, but the buffs provided by this set make up for her personal DPS loss, granting a Net 5~% total team DPS increase over Obsidian Codex for off-field Mavuika.✹ It is only recommended to use this artifact set for Mavuika if there are no other potential Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holders in the team.2-Piece: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%.
4-Piece: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 25%. Additionally, when not on the field, Elemental Skill DMG will be further increased by 25%. This effect will be cleared 2s after taking the field.
➤ Golden Troupe can be a decent option if Mavuika is being used primarily for her Skill thanks to it's off-field Pyro application and damage, assuming that there is already a character using Scroll on the team. However, even in a supportive role, Mavuika's burst is a significant part of her damage that is not buffed by this set.
✹ This artifact set is roughly 9~% worse than Obsidian Codex for off-field Mavuika.2-Piece: ATK +18%.
4-Piece: After leaving combat for 3s, DMG dealt increased by 50%. In combat, if no Burning opponents are nearby for more than 6s, this DMG Bonus will decrease by 10% per second until it reaches 0%. When a Burning opponent exists, it will increase by 10% instead until it reaches 50%. This effect still triggers if the equipping character is off-field.
➤ Although a niche set, in Burning teams while Mavuika not the main on-fielder, this artifact set is a serious consideration for her personal damage. Kinich/Emilie centric teams would be the prefered archetype for this team.
✹ This artifact set is roughly 4~% better than Obsidian Codex for off-field Mavuika.Recommended 2-Piece sets: ATK%, Elemental Mastery, Pyro DMG Bonus, Normal/Charged Attack DMG Bonus.
If none of the other temporary options are available, use 2/2 Combos while farming for Obsidian Codex. Only use EM if playing Melt or Vape.
✹ These artifact combos are roughly 13~% worse than Obsidian Codex for both on-field and off-field Mavuika.Considering how important other Natlan characters are for Mavuika's kit and prefered teams, we've decided to make a small section listing them and providing a small preview of how these units could be used with Mavuika. Each one of them will be talked with more depth in their specific Team Archetypes. Keep in mind that we recommend to have two Natlan characters alongside Mavuika as long as it makes sense within the team archetype, but one Natlan teammate is almost a necessity for all intents and purposes. Keep in mind C1 notes provided previously if that's something to consider for your account.
➤ One of the strongest additions that has come out from Natlan, Xilonen is Mavuika's perfect teammate, giving her almost half of her Fighting Spirit points in about 2 seconds, and this can be activated twice per rotation if needed, alongside being a good user for Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, Archaic Petra, Instructor or Noblesse Oblige Artifact sets, a Healer and a Elemental Resistance shredder. It cannot be stated how much Xilonen helps Mavuika to shine as a character. Investing into Xilonen Constellations, specially her C2, is going to further increase Xilonen's supportive capabilities in Mavuika teams, making it a 15~% DPR increase.
➤ Another strong Natlan addition that's being released alongside Mavuika's patch. Citlali would provide Off-Field Cryo Application and a decent amount of Fighting Spirit points thanks to her own Nightsoul Points consumption alongside having a consistent Pyro Resistance shred implemented in her kit, as this shred is going to be applied every time a Melt reaction takes place. Citlali would serve as the perfect Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder in Mavuika's teams while providing some defensive and offensive utilities for her team. Citlali's C1 and C2 increases her already strong supportive capabilities by providing extra damage to attacks made by her teammates, 250 Elemental Mastery to the On-Fielder and increases her Pyro Resistance shred. If interested in Vertical Investment, these constellations can offer a higher damage increase to C2+ Mavuika than her C3-C5.
➤ Ororon is a decent support option for Chevreuse/Overload teams thanks to his Off-Field Electro Application, being able carry the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City Artifact set and consumes a moderate amount of Nightsoul Points to help with Fighting Spirit points generation. Not recommended outside of Chevreuse/Overload team archetypes.
➤ Kachina serves as a F2P support option if you don't have other Natlan supports that can complement Mavuika. Kachina helps to create a moderate amount of Fighting Spirit and can be a Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder.
➤ Pyro Traveller will finally make their introduction in 5.3 and would make for another F2P support option if you don't have other Natlan supports. Similar to Kachina, Pyro Traveller helps to create a moderate amount of Fighting Spirit and can be a Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder, with the exception that they'd be mostly relegated to be viable in Chevreuse/Overload teams.
➤ Chasca is a strong On-Field attacker option based on Swirl-Elemental Absorption to use alongside Mavuika while she's relegated to an Off-Field role, and thanks to the introduction of the new characters released in 5.3, Chasca should see a greater scope of viable teammates. Mavuika can be a Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder and the buffs transferred from her Fighting Spirit will greatly improve Chasca's DMG output.
➤ Kinich and Mavuika combination will seclude them to be played in a Burning/Burgeon team, but this team should not be underestimated as it's a strong combination for current game standards. Mavuika can be a Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder and the buffs transferred from her Fighting Spirit will greatly improve Kinich's DMG output.
➤ Mualani and Mavuika make for a decent pairing, although there's nuance to the discussion of Mualani preferring to use Xiangling if there's Double Hydro being used in the team which is taken into account previously. Nonetheless, Mavuika makes for an easier to build and not Energy Recharge limited option that still brings a lot to the table for Mualani.
Hyper/Mono/Double Geo teams are teams that aren't reliant on Elemental Reactions but rather focus entirely on the base damage that all characters in a team can deal, often complemented with units that will buff a specific Element or Stat so there's synergy in the team. Given that Mavuika is a Pyro character, most characters in this segment will be either Pyro or characters that interact with Pyro peripherally.
➤ As stated previously, Xilonen is one of the strongest additions that has come out from Natlan and Mavuika's perfect teammate, giving her ability to generate almost half of Mavuika's Fighting Spirit points in about 2 seconds, and this can be activated twice per rotation if needed. Xilonen is also a Healer and a Elemental Resistance shredder for this team. In this specific team archetype, Xilonen has another Natlan teammate besides Mavuika, Xilonen would hold an Archaic Petra artifact set, just make sure to grab a Pyro Crystal from the Crystalize reaction, otherwise she would be the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder.
➤ Bennett is very beneficial to Mavuika thanks to his large ATK buff and Pyro DMG Bonus at C6, as well as strong healing, alongside being a perfect Noblesse Oblige or Instructor holder. Bennett provides immense value for any ATK scaling character, including Mavuika. His Burst circle can be slightly frustrating to work with, but it shouldn't be a problem for most practical scenarios since each tick of his Burst makes the buff lingers for 2 seconds, even if you leave the circle. If Mavuika is C2 or higher, his buffs provide less relative gain to the team’s Total DPS, and other options can potentially bring more to the table.
➤ Kazuha can provide Elemental Resistance shred and Elemental DMG bonus as well as grouping. Kazuha is always a strong option for teams with a lot of Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo damage, but due to Xilonen having particularly strong synergy he has less relative value than Xilonen for Mavuika. However when grouping is useful, he will always have an advantage.
➤ Not much else to mention beyond what has been stated previously, Kachina is mostly used in this team to provide Fighting Spirit generation and be the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder.
➤ Chiori is another option for this team archetype if you settle for a Double Pyro/Double Geo team comp. Her personal damage is substantial and has good synergy with the other Geo units that have been recommended for this team archetype, alongside to not needing a lot of On-Field time thanks to her Swap mechanic. Overall a solid choice for a Double Geo comp.
➤ Arlecchino could be used as the On-Field damage dealer while Mavuika takes an Off-Field role in a Mono Pyro team. To pull this off, you'd want to have both Bennett and Xilonen to have a well rounded synergy between characters. Arle Normal/Charged Attack-centric kit would help to generate Fighting Spirit, alongside the notes previously mentioned for both Bennett and Xilonen.
➤ Navia can be an On-Field attacker if paired alongside Xilonen, allowing a Geo/Pyro Elemental Resonance, on top of this, Bennett would serve as the perfect last teammate to use in this team. Navia's damage contribution is substantial thanks to the base strength of all characters involved in this team and multiple buffs involved through the rotations. Since Mavuika can't trigger Crystalize, Xilonen would be the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder for this team.
➤ If other alternatives previously listed are not an option, Xiangling could also be a consideration for a Mono Pyro team thanks to her moderate base damage and her C1/C6 could help to further buff other Pyro teammates in the team, Mavuika included.
Melt teams have incredibly high damage potential, taking advantage of the multiplicative reaction multipliers to hit very large numbers with Mavuika's Elemental Burst cast and her Charged Attacks. They can also take advantage of some of the strongest support characters available to buff Mavuika to the highest heights. Melt teams are dependent on Cryo characters to enable the reaction, while including as many other buffs as possible. Mavuika can also be used in a supportive role to enable other characters to trigger Melt.
➤ Citlali is a great support for Melt, offering Off-Field Cryo damage to allow Mavuika to Forward Melt, very strong buffs as well as Pyro Resistance shred, and her own damage. She can be the holder of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City for the team, buffing her own Elemental Burst's damage as well as Mavuika. She can also equip strong supportive catalysts such as her own Signature, Starcaller's Watch, Wandering Evenstar, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, or A Thousand Floating Dreams to provide even more buffs for Mavuika. All of this on top of generating Fighting Spirit make her the optimal choice in a Mavuika Melt team.
➤ Xilonen takes up more of a pure buffing role in a Melt team, especially when paired with both Citlali and Bennett. Melt teams will prefer to have Citlali holding the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set, so Xilonen will hold a different supportive set such as Archaic Petra, Noblesse Oblige, or Instructor. Her healing isn't necessarily as important when there is another healer and potentially a shielder in the team already. Xilonen's buffs are still very potent however, and she generates Fighting Spirit, so she is an ideal teammate for a Melt team.
➤ Bennett provides massive ATK buff and Pyro DMG% Bonus are very strong for Mavuika in every team, including Melt. He can also buff others in the team such as Citlali's Elemental Burst, or letting Rosaria snapshot his buff for her Elemental Burst. He can also use supportive artifact sets such as Noblesse Oblige or Instructor for additional buffs.
➤ Kazuha's grouping and buffs are very strong in Melt teams. His Elemental Burst can also absorb Cryo when set up correctly, allowing for more consistent Forward Melts for its duration. He does not generate Fighting Spirit, so Melt teams with Kazuha are reliant on having Citlali to fund Mavuika's Elemental Burst.
➤ Rosaria can enable Forward Melts for Mavuika, and has a CRIT Rate buff. Rosaria does not generate Fighting Spirit, so Melt teams using her are reliant on using Xilonen to fund Mavuika's Elemental Burst. She can also be used in Double Cryo teams with Citlali who can serve as an alternate Fighting Spirit generator.
➤ Layla is another option to enable Forward Melts for Mavuika, and has a big shield to aid with Damage Mitigation. Her Cryo application is less consistent than Citlali or Rosaria, which will result in less Forward Melts from Mavuika in practice. On top of this, she's a perfect Tenacity of the Millileth user. Her C4 represents a decent buff to the current On-Fielder Normal/Charged attacks, which is a bonus to further her utility within the team.
➤ Chasca can use Mavuika's supportive kit in a Melt team to great effect. When played with a Cryo character like Citlali or Layla, Chasca can get a fair number of Melts with her Bullets. Citlali also shreds Pyro Resistance, allowing the Pyro Bullets to deal increased damage.
➤ Wriothesley can take advantage of Mavuika's supportive abilities to Reverse Melt his damage. Mavuika's Pyro application alone can sometimes be lacking for some specific Wriothesley combos, so be sure to use combos that do not overwhelm the Pyro Aura or add a Dendro teammate for more consistent Pyro application through the Burning reaction. If wanting to use Mavuika's Elemental Burst for a quick burst of damage early in the rotation, Xilonen will be needed to generate Fighting Spirit.
➤ Similar to Wriothesley, Ganyu can use Mavuika's support kit to enable Melts. She also needs to adjust her playstyle to fit with solo Mavuika's Pyro application, skipping her Elemental Burst to Melt her Charged Shots consistently. Playing her in a Burn/Melt team with a Dendro character is very helpful in allowing her to Melt all her shots consistently. A defensive option to prevent Ganyu from being staggered is highly encouraged. It can be difficult to generate Fighting Spirit in a Ganyu Melt team, but Xilonen can be used if forgoing a defensive option.
➤ Emilie can be played with Mavuika and a Cryo On-Fielder to help with maintaining a Pyro Aura for Reverse Melts. She has strong personal damage to make up for the buffing team slot she will take up. Sacrificing a character like Bennett or Xilonen to play her is noticeable, but she is still a decent choice in her niche.
➤ Diona would be able to use weapons like Elegy of the End and artifact sets like Instructor. Unfortunately, her own Off-Field Cryo application is slow, as it only applies Cryo each 4s despite dealing damage each 2s, not only that but her Burst is prone to miss if used at wrong time. Her healing and shielding are relatively redudant for Mavuika Melt teams, since Mavuika already has access to healing through Bennett and on-kit Interruption Resistance, but Diona's C6 offers a nice boost thanks to the 200 Elemental Mastery given for free.
Vape teams have been the staple of Pyro On-Field DPS teams since Genshin Impact release and for good reason since it's a Multiplicative Reaction, alongside Melt. Unlike other Pyro On-Field attackers, Mavuika doesn't take as much advantage of Hydro characters that have Coordinated Attacks as their core kit function, like Xingqiu and Yelan, this is due to Mavuika's preferred combos being a held Charge Attack, which can't apply Coordinated Attacks, keep in mind these characters can still be used and be competent enough for Abyss, but it's not completely ideal when taking Mavuika's kit into consideration. This is important to take into consideration since her Charged Attack is really strong thanks to it's Movement Values and bonus damage given by Mavuika's Fighting Spirit. Instead, she prefers using other Off-Field Hydro applicators that can further buff her capabilities, like Furina. Mavuika can also be used as an Off-Field Pyro applicator to enable other On-Field Hydro characters.
➤ Furina works as the perfect Vape enabler for this team archetype, as her Hydro application doesn't rely on Normal Attacks, unlike Yelan or Xingqiu, which Mavuika doesn't take full advantage of. Furina has a strong team-wide DMG% bonus given by her Fanfare mechanic, alongside having strong personal damage. In order to make her Fanfare mechanic consistent, you'll need a healer alongside Furina, fortunately this team archetype also want to use characters such as Xilonen or Bennett, which not only are strong teammates on their own, but also offer healing, alongside Xilonen's capability to generate Fighting Spirit.
➤ Similar to Melt, Xilonen takes a supportive role for Vape teams, with the difference that she's most likely going to be the only Natlan teammate in your team, making her the only recommended character that can use the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set. Despite that, her Fighting Spirit generation is extremely valuable, alongside her Elemental Resistance shred and healing capabilities.
➤ Bennett is very beneficial to Mavuika thanks to his large ATK buff and Pyro DMG Bonus at C6, as well as strong healing, alongside being a perfect Noblesse Oblige or Instructor holder. Despite not having a lot of teammates that can take advantage of Bennett in this team archetype (besides Mavuika) thanks to most Hydro characters scaling through HP instead of ATK, there's still teammates like Kazuha who can take advantage of his Burst buff to snapshot his own.
➤ Kazuha can provide Elemental Resistance shred and Elemental DMG bonus as well as grouping. His Elemental Burst can also absorb Hydro or Pyro, which depending on the team and On-Fielder, one will be preferred over the other. A decent choice if you need extra Elemental application, grouping and a Elemental Resistance shredder.
➤ Using Charged Attacks with Mavuika is highly recommended, however, she is still a strong DPS if using a Normal Attack focused playstyle instead, for which Yelan is the premiere choice. Yelan offers strong personal damage, a buff for On-Field characters, and enough Hydro application for Mavuika to reliably Vape. It should be reiterated that a Normal Attack playstyle for Mavuika is a significant loss in damage, however, it helps Mavuika replenish her Fighting Spirit in teams that do not have enough Natlan characters consuming Nightsoul Points.
➤ Xingqiu is a more accessible Hydro applier for Mavuika thanks to being a 4star character, offering similar utility to Yelan in a Normal Attack focused Mavuika, albeit with lower personal damage. One benefit to using Xingqiu in most teams is his Interruption Resistance (IR), which is redundant for Mavuika since she has inherent IR during her Burst form. His damage reduction however, is still valuable. Xingqiu's higher Hydro application isn't especially relevant in this team, making him a downgrade over Yelan, but still a viable teammate for players seeking a more F2P friendly option.
➤ Candace is only viable as a Hydro applier for Mavuika at C6, but this constellation offers a few contributions if running a Normal Attack focused Mavuika. She offers a sizeable a Normal Attack buff, which is valuable for Mavuika. Keep in mind her Normal Attack multipliers are significantly lower than her Charged Attack multipliers. She also applies Hydro every 2.3 seconds when the On-Field character is using Normal Attacks. Unlike Xingqiu or Yelan, this Hydro application is AoE, which is helpful when fighting multiple enemies that tend to group. Her application is consistent enough that she should be able to enable Mavuika to Vape a majority of her attacks. It's worth mentioning that Xingqiu should be a better option, but C6 Candace can work as well. If you're looking to add another beautiful woman on your team, this is a perfect choice.
➤ Mualani will assume the On-Field position when played alongside Mavuika, this team can perform thanks to Mualani helping to generate Fighting Spirit while Mavuika helps with the Off-Field Pyro application. This team works best when Xilonen is used as well. Double Hydro can still be played with varying levels of success as Mavuika's Pyro application won't be enough to keep up with Hydro application in the team. When using C5 or lower Candance, Mavuika can provide enough Pyro application for Mualani to reliably Vape, but if using Furina, Yelan, or C6 Candace, there will be some significant consistency issues in Mualani's ability to Vape, resulting in a significant loss in her personal damage.
➤ Neuvillette will play a similar role that Mualani fills in the team. It's worth mentioning that despite his Charged Attack spam, Neuvillette can't generate Fighting Spirit through his Charged Attack, alongside not having Nightsoul Points consumption, so the generation is expected to be lower than Mualani's. A strong choice for a team that necessitates a Hydro On-Fielder nonetheless.
➤ Chasca can use Mavuika's supportive kit in a Vape team to varying levels of success. Because she does not use Normal Attacks, Furina is the only recommended Hydro character for Chasca. Others can work, but it would result in the only Hydro application being from Chasca's Bullets, reducing the amount of possible Vapes. In general, Chasca would perform better with Mavuika in a Melt team, but Vape is still viable.
Overload teams found a place in the game thanks to the introduction of Chevreuse back in 4.3 version, making it a viable team composition for Pyro and Electro characters. Unfortunately, as of 5.3, there's only 2 Natlan characters (besides Mavuika herself) that can help Mavuika with her Nightsoul Burst Ascension 1 passive and Fighting Soul generation through Nightsoul Points consumption, which are Ororon and Pyro Traveller. Despite this, Mavuika still has strong teammate options for this team archetype, such as Chevreuse and Bennett to list a few. This team archetype is recommended if you don't own many Natlan characters but managed to pull Chevreuse and would like use Mavuika in your team, be it as an On-Field or Off-Field character.
➤ Chevreuse has allowed Overload teams shine since 4.3 version. Her buffs are quite strong to the team since she provides ATK%, Elemental Resistance shred and healing, alongside having a C6 that will provide Elemental DMG% Bonus for both Pyro and Electro units, and she can be a Noblesse Oblige holder, all in one package. She is a necessity to have any consideration about an Overload based team, with the drawback that she limits the character choices in a team to Pyro/Electro.
➤ As of 5.3 version, Ororon is the only Electro character from Natlan, meaning he'll be an fundamental unit for Overload teams, since he will generate Fighting Spirit for Mavuika alongside being a Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City holder. His own kit doesn't offer buffs to the team unless you have his C6, despite that, Ororon deals decent personal damage and helps with Electro application.
➤ In Overload teams, Bennett is not as necessary as it was before since Chevreuse already offers some ATK% buffs, even then, his ATK% buff is still valuable to Mavuika while providing extra utilities, such as healing and being able to use Noblesse Oblige or Instructor artifact sets.
➤ Yae Miko is a strong Off-Field option that can be used alongside Mavuika to help apply Off-Field Electro while also providing solid damage to the team, especially since her Totems RNG factor can catch enemies that are relatively far away from the rest. Her Burst can be used to help finish off low health enemies or help clear multi-wave content, but it's not a necessity as she can be built entirely around her Skill.
➤ Fischl serves a similar role to Yae, albeit dealing slightly less damage due to the fact that her Ascension 4 is not triggered consistently, alongside Mavuika not being able to apply Fischl's C6 in Mavuika's preferred rotations, this damage claims hold true even if you snapshot Oz. Her Battery capabilities are not as relevant as they would be in other teams thanks to Mavuika not needing Energy Recharge, but she's still a solid choice for an Off-Field Electro applicator.
➤ Clorinde can be used as a strong On-Field attacker while Mavuika takes an Off-Field role. Thanks to her Normal Attack based kit, her Fighting Spirit generation is quite decent, alongside helping to apply Electro in this team. Despite this, it's preferable that you use Ororon alongside Clorinde to help with the Fighting Spirit generation.
➤ Similar to Clorinde, Arlecchino can be used as a strong On-Field attacker thanks to her Normal Attack based kit, Arlecchino would help with the generation of Fighting Spirit, with the caveat that Ororon is also a preferable teammate option alongside Arle to help with the Fighting Spirit generation. This team might seem and feel dysfunctional to play, but if it is everything you have in your account, it's competent enough to be used in Abyss.
Burning and Burgeon is an archetype that for Mavuika, it will exist almost exclusively while using her as a Off-Field DPS with Kinich (or in a Burn-Melt team as mentioned above). In these teams, Mavuika's purpose is to apply Pyro to keep the Burning Aura on an enemy and/or to hit Dendro Cores and proc the Burgeon reaction. Burning tends to be easier to run, but the benefit to running Mavuika in a Burgeon team over Burning is that Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is able to reliably proc in these teams (Bursting a Dendro Core will result in Pyro and Dendro DMG bonuses, but not a Hydro DMG bonus). If running Mavuika on a Burgeon team, Elemental Mastery becomes a highly valuable stat as Burgeon damage scales of character level and EM only. It is possible to run Mavuika On-Field in a Burning or Burgeon team, but it is not recommended over other team options.
➤ Kinich is a Dendro On-Field DPS with a kit oriented around Burning and Burgeon reactions. In his teams, Mavuika is an optimal Pyro Off-Field DPS due to her ability to activate Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City and consistently apply Burning and/or burst Dendro Cores. Depending on the team, it may be valuable for Mavuika to run Deepwood Memories instead, however this would cause a significant decrease in her personal damage. In Burgeon teams, Kinich is not able to do as many cannon hits as he is in Burning teams, but the Burgeon damage and more consistent Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City uptime can compensate for that.
➤ Emilie is the premium Dendro Burning Off-Field DPS who offers a significant amount of personal damage. When using Emilie on Burning teams, Mavuika may be a holder of Deepwood Memories as she can not reliably enable Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City in Burning exclusive teams due to the way the Burning Aura works (it will only work on the first rotation or after a new wave of enemies starts). Scroll is still a decent option for Mavuika in these teams however and results in overall more personal damage.
➤ Here he is again. Bennett is a staple in all Kinich teams due to his potent ATK buff and healing (which will help you to recover from Burning and Burgeon self damage). In these teams, Bennett may be used to hold Deepwood Memories instead of Noblesse Oblige, but this will result in significant downtime on the Deepwood Memories passive. Bennett is so significant in these teams that Mavuika, Kinich, and Emilie (if she's on the team) will be fighting for field time during Bennett's Burst.
➤ Furina is easily the best offensive option for Kinich Burgeon teams, but mindful of your team's survivability, as her health drain + Burgeon self damage can result in a rapid depletion of HP, especially for the On-Field attacker. One of the benefit to using Furina over Emilie is that she has no interest in competing for Bennett's ATK buff. Uncomfortable as it is to say, Furina is the best holder of Deepwood Memories in these teams, even though it comes at the cost of her own personal damage, which can be significant when she is able to Vape.
➤ As Kinich's attacks during his Skill count as doing Normal Attacks (despite not dealing Normal Attack damage), he works well with Yelan and Xingqiu. Yelan contributes through her sizeable personal damage, damage buff to the On-Field character, and ability to hold Deepwood Memories artifact set. Yelan's damage will go down when using Deepwood Memories, but the team damage will go up due to the sheer amount of Dendro damage being dealt on these teams.
➤ Xingqiu offers similar utility as Yelan in these teams, with Off-Field Hydro application and the ability to hold Deepwood Memories artifact set. His personal damage is lower that Yelan's and Furina's, and he does not offer any damage buffs. However, he offers damage reduction which can be valuable in Burgeon teams where the On-Field character is consistently taking damage from Burgeon bursts. He also offers higher Hydro application, which will result in more Dendro Cores but will reduce the Burning uptime on enemies, potentially affecting Kinich's Nightsoul Points generation and ability to use his Skill.
