MAUS is a free, open-source Windows 11 audit and repair tool.

Please include your MAUS version (shown in "About") and a short description of the problem. MAUS is maintained by an individual developer; answers usually within a few days.

PRIVACY POLICY

MAUS has no telemetry and no user account. It does not collect personal data and sends nothing to its developers.

Data kept on your PC only: your settings, score history, test results and the log of changes made by MAUS (so they can be undone), in %ProgramData%\MAUS and %LocalAppData%\MAUS. You can delete these folders at any time.

Network: this program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. Network access only happens for actions you start: Windows Update search during an audit (Microsoft), software update list (winget), web search about a process (search engine of your choice), connection test, and links to the project page.

Politique de confidentialité (français) : MAUS n'a ni télémétrie ni compte utilisateur. Il ne collecte aucune donnée personnelle et n'envoie rien à ses développeurs. Vos réglages, l'historique des scores, les résultats des tests et le journal des modifications restent uniquement sur votre PC, dans %ProgramData%\MAUS et %LocalAppData%\MAUS. Le réseau n'est utilisé que pour des actions que vous lancez.

Requires Windows 11 23H2 or later. Alpha version: back up your data before applying fixes.

HOW MAUS PROTECTS YOUR PC

- The audit is read-only: nothing is changed until you choose a fix and confirm.

- Before any fix, a System Restore point is created and checked; original values are logged.

- Every fix can be undone from the History page.

- Administrator rights are requested only when an action needs them; refusing keeps MAUS usable in read-only mode.

- No telemetry, no ads, no account.

MAUS is designed and coded with Claude, an AI by Anthropic, under the direction of its author. Free software under the GNU GPL v3, provided without warranty. Not affiliated with Microsoft.
