The aim of the course at the University of Rome Tor Vergata is to provide students with an understanding of fundamental concepts that shape the international financial system and the functioning of the international monetary system. It has predominantly a policy angle from the perspective of a practitioner with particular attention to current issues that are debated by policymakers and financial analysts.

This course is taught in Italian at the LUISS School of Government and illustrates the benefits and potential implications of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The course elaborates the drivers of FDI, the factors which may foster a greater flow of FDI in Italy, in particular in the Southern regions of the country, and the policies to foster them.
