This course is designed for new, intermediate and advanced golfers for them to practice their long-range pitching and short-range chipping. The game essentially consists of hitting the golf ball from one soccer goal post and hitting another in the fewest amount of strokes. Here are some intricate details unique to this course:
Only the use of wedges are permitted. This can be a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, a gap wedge or a lob wedge. (Any range from 47-64 degree loft).
Players must tee off anywhere parallel to the soccer goal posts, preferably on the side closest to the Mill Creek Ravine. (Except for Hole #4, where players will Tee-off at the edge of the pitchers mound)
The ball must hit the designated pole for the player(s) to be allowed to move on to the next hole. (If the ball's trajectory is headed to the pole and deviated by the tall grass surrounding the pole, players can discuss whether or not that shot counts.)
The hole will always consist of the pole closest to the Ravine. (Except for Hole #3, which will be the middle post of the Backstop behind the baseball diamond)
Players can not obtain a score higher than a triple-bogey ( 3 strokes over par) on any given hole. If a player sees he cannot get lower than a triple-bogey, he can either finish the hole without any added strokes or immediately move on to the next hole.
This is a semi-fast pace game designed to be completed in 20-35 minutes depending on the group size. Practice swings are not forbidden, but they are frowned upon and highly discouraged as it removes the fast pace aspect of the game.
This course is designed to avoid the main soccer field to stay out the way of people, cars on the road, houses, etc.
Normal golfing etiquette applies to this course as well, so be respectful and show some class.
PLAY SAFE AND HAVE FUN!
