October 14 - Abimbola and Chloe present their research at the Water Resource Conference in St. Paul. Congrats to Chloe on receiving a student poster presentation award!

September 5  - Melissa presented the group's work at her promotion seminar "Fate of Plastics in the Environment: From Legacy Pollutants to Emergent Materials"

Fall 2025 - Congrats to Caitlin, Connor, and Paul who were all awarded an Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program fellowship to continue working on their various research projects.

July 31  - Jackie presented her SURP project "Crystallinity of Polylactic Acid Impacts Enzyme Hydrolysis" at the end of summer poster session at UMD.

July 24 - Abimbola and Melissa lead the microplastics sampling with a group of educators and researchers at MN Sea Grant's Lake Superior Speaks event

July 16 - Liana successfully defends her WRS MS thesis. Congrats, Liana!

June - Emma and Abimbola present their thesis proposals. Keep up the good work!

May 27 - Jackie began work this summer after being awarded a Summer Undergraduate Research Program award.

May 11-15 - Melissa attended and presented at the SETAC Europe conference in Vienna, Austria. 

May 10  - Congratulations to Grace and Isaac for graduating with their bachelor's degrees! 

April 25 - Congratulations to recent MS graduate Tom Badzinski on the publication of his thesis work.

April 25 - Grace and Isaac presented their undergraduate research at the Department's Undergraduate Research Symposium. Grace was awarded the Casmir Ilenda award for her outstanding presentation.

April 17 - Melissa was awarded the Chancellor's Distinguished Research/Creative Activity Award (< 10 years service).

April 8 - Melissa contributed to this editorial in ES&T entitled Apolitical Science

April - Abimbola and Melissa spend time doing fieldwork with high school science classrooms across the state.

March 23 - 27  - Melissa, Isaac, Grace, and Emma give talks at Spring ACS in San Diego!

January 24  - Melissa gives a talk at SUNY-Binghamton.
