In my professional life I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Donders Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience (DCCN) in the Predictive Brain Lab of Dr. Floris de Lange. I am interested in vision and how memories of past experiences allow us to anticipate future events.
I research how visual cortex anticipates upcoming events and facilitates the detection of relevant objects. My results have shown that visual cortex performs 'pattern completion', a process in which a known stimulus sequence is generated from partial input only. I am interested in how the visual cortex and other memory-related areas like the Hippocampus work together to perform this computation.
