Read the UNSW Medicine Written Application Guide here...
This is where I leave bits of advice I have for high school students who have their sights set on medicine. I update this page frequently so check back here once in a while to see what's new :)
It's not mandatory to do a volunteering activity, participate in a form of leadership or have work experience in the healthcare industry. However, if you do engage in these activities, you gain a richer repertoire of experiences. Put it simply, by having these experiences, you put yourself in a position to engage in interesting conversations, interact with people outside of your typical scope and gain valuable insight into the health career. This is invaluable when you eventually have to separate yourself from the pack.
The Work Experience Program runs in terms 2, 3, and 4. Places are limited and our Program fills up quickly. If you would like to participate in the Program we recommend you apply in term 1 of the school year. Work experience placements should be arranged as part of your school's recognised work experience program.
For transparency, MissionMed has collaborated with Zhang's HSC Coaching to provide relevant information for high school students who are eager to apply for medical entry. You will find plenty of useful information on how to write amazing applications!
