Matthew McConaughey is an American actor and producer born on November 4, 1969, in Uvalde, Texas. He grew up in Longview, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Radio-Television-Film. He then began to think about becoming an actor, McConaughey began his acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in television commercials and small roles in films. He began to care about his career progressively and he gained recognition for his role in the 1993 film "Dazed and Confused," which led to larger roles in films such as "A Time to Kill" (1996) and "Contact" (1997).
