Matthew Isaacs is a seasoned commercial real estate and proptech executive committed to advancing sustainable building solutions. As the Vice President of Business Development and Sales at Kelvin, he has played a pivotal role in decarbonizing legacy buildings in New York City since 2019. Under his leadership, Kelvin has expanded its impact, including securing Series A funding and deploying its Cozy Radiator cover, which allows residents to control their radiator temperatures for the first time, improving comfort, energy efficiency, and compliance with Local Law 97. Matthew is particularly focused on bringing climate-resilient technologies to NYCHA and other affordable housing properties, ensuring that historically underserved communities benefit from cutting-edge sustainability solutions.
A New York City native and Brooklyn resident for over two decades, Matthew collaborates closely with local leaders, including Council Member Lincoln Restler and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, on initiatives that strengthen neighborhood climate resilience. He serves as a board member on Brooklyn’s Community Board 1 and on Lincoln Restler’s Participatory Budgeting Committee, supporting environmental projects across the district. As of 2024, Matthew also serves on the New York City Mayor’s Office of Sustainability Local Law 97 Task Force.
Before joining Kelvin, Matthew led a sales team at Eastern Consolidated, successfully completing over $150 million in mid-market investment sales and development site transactions. Matthew also spearheaded the redevelopment of a 75,000-square-foot factory building in Williamsburg, transforming it into a modern office property now occupied by WeWork. His expertise extends to multifamily property rehabilitation throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Earlier in his career, Matthew was deeply involved in New York City’s hospitality sector, where he owned and operated several restaurants and nightclubs in Manhattan during the 2000s. His diverse experience in real estate, redevelopment, and hospitality gives him a unique perspective on urban transformation and sustainability.
A recognized thought leader in proptech and green building technology, Matthew is a guest lecturer at Columbia University and New York University and a frequent speaker at industry conferences on the intersection of real estate, sustainability, and technology.
