Our first ever Hot Concrete appearance was a blast. We loved seeing everyone get down to our music, and watching all of the other performances. Special shoutout to our guest feature Nathan who played guitar with us on one song, and Big thanks to Jash at Dogma for hosting the event and throwing a great party.

This year’s 5 show residency was a success. Thanks to everyone who came to our shows opening up the evening and seeing the play after. We enjoyed covering Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones and Avenged Sevenfold for you. Big thanks to the cast and crew of Trap for having us - and their wonderful director Ms. Murphy.
EGHS HARVEST FESTIVAL

The harvest festival was absolutely insane! Shoutout to everyone who came out and brought the energy for this stop of the Tiernan Tour. We had a blast tearing up the stage at EGHS. Big thanks to our friends in 5DK for opening the night and setting the perfect mood!

GIANT pumpkin festival
october 5th, 2025
What an absolute honor it was to play the Elk Grove GianT Pumpkin Festival this year. This gig was a huge milestone for us - we earned this spot by winning Sammy's Star Search, hosted by the CSD. Playing for our hometown felt like a massive celebration. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch us and shout along during our set. We are incredibly proud to represent the local music scene here in Elk Grove. See you all at the next one!
Laguna town hall
AUGUST 22ND, 2025
We had a ball opening for Innersoul at their Hot Summer Nights gig at the Laguna Town Hall this past Friday! It was a full circle moment for us, because this band was started after a previous Innersoul concert on that same stage. Our 45-minute set consisted of our most dancey bangers, as well as some covers here and there. WE in MFA are thankful for the opportunity to give the people of our city a fun evening, and we hope to jam out with you all again soon. Big shoutout to Elizabeth from CSD, Bill Meyer and all of Innersoul, and Jake Wadell!
BAD TO WORSE PRESENTS
AUGUST 9TH, 2025
It was our honor to perform on the inaugural bill of Bad To Worse's "B2W Presents" series this past sturday night at The secret compound in sacramento. We opened for Indie Rock bands Moonwave and Carport, both of whom absolutely killed it. Big thanks to brady and andrew for sound and mc'ing the event.
SAMMY'S STAR SEARCH
AUGUST 8TH, 2025
We picked up some "good vibrations" as the last performers of the evening at CSD's inaugural Sammy's Star Search last night. Our set lasted 3 songs, but the audience was so electrified by our performance that we were asked to do an encore - so we of course gave them Black Box! We ended up going home with some new opportunities - which you all will be hearing more about soon ;) Thank you to Elizabeth Rhoan and everyone in our district of CSD for hosting us for an awesome evening in Laguna!
BREWSTOCK 2025
AUGUST 1ST, 2025
Our time machine took us to the Ed Sullivan Show this past friday night as we paid homage to the late Brian Wilson. In a sea of Grunge and Punk Rock, we surfed our Sunshine Pop wave proudly at the Brewstock 2025 music festival. We took the stage at 10:00pm, following Darkest Days Before and preceding 5DK. While a rocky start to our set had us in doubt for a brief moment, we powered through and threw down the house as always. We even debuted our new song, "As Seen On TV", a surf-rock banger for the masses. Big thank you to Alyssa from the l0renz for inviting us to play this incredible gig.
The Stage at Burke Junction
JULY 25, 2025
Best described as a "live rehearsal", we booked this show as a last-minute exhibiton show in preparation for our upcoming gigs. Despite the small audience, we had an awesome night performing. Our good friend Mister Magpie performed an explosive opener set and brought the energy for the evening. Our setlist included a special addition, one you had to be there to fully enjoy...more to come soon on that one. Big thank you to Bill and Nicole at The Stage at Burke Junction for hosting this event!
TUESDAY NIGHT MARKET
JUNE 17, 2025
Our friends at Music in Place were thrilled by our last performance, and had us return for a 45-minute set at the city of Sonoma's tuesday night market in the town square at the Grinstead Amphitheatre. We opened for Magnolia Ave, a band from south San Francisco that also participated in the battle of the bands last month. Even though there were a few hiccups on the bass side of things (like a broken strap, lol!), our set was strong and energetic, getting the crowd off their feet and dancing up front by the stage. We're thankful for the opportunity to give the people of Sonoma a show they'll never forget, and we hope to see you all again soon.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS
May 17, 2025
For the very first time in our career, we took our act on the road and played our first show outside the 916 - our destination being Music In Place's battle of the bands competition in beautiful Sonoma, California. We competed as one of 11 bands from all around the norcal region, adding to the variety of Rock, Blues and Jazz the day had to offer. Although we didn't place as one of the top 3 finalists, we're incredibly thankful to Music In Place (especially MELISSA and Landon) for giving us this awesome opportunity to bring our music to a new place and enjoy watching the other bands do what they do best.
Parkfest 2025
May 10, 2025
Parkfest 2025 was an unforgettable experience. Despite a few hiccups, we gave our all and the crowd couldn’t get enough of us. Shout-out to the bands who rocked alongside us—Dread, Home Turf, The Lorenz, and 5DK—you guys took this show to another level. We’ve come a long way, and it’s only just beginning. This event was more than a gig—it was a celebration. This was a dream come true, and we can’t wait to make it even crazier next year!
Brewrock Festival
April 19, 2025
We were pretty happy to be back at Waterman for the Brewrock Festival. This time around, we were lucky enough to get to play on the brand-new stage. We opened for Nirvana tribute band Nevermind and 90s Alternative Rock cover band Thrift Shop, and let's just say, their sets were RAD. We're proud to say we finally got our merch table set up! You can now buy MFA Merch at all of our live performances, including CDs, stickers, and soon, t-shirts! We'll be back at Waterman for the 2025 edition of Parkfest on May 10!
COchella Festival
April 11, 2025
On April 11, 2025, we performed at Cosumnes Oaks High School's annual COchella Music and Thrift Spring Festival. This show proved to be one of our most fun gigs EVER. The crowd was out of control, with an epic mosh pit and an intense wall of death. Seeing 200 people bouncing up and down to Black Box was surreal. Massive thanks to Mrs. Henderson and Coho's ASB for inviting us to play at their festival. It was an absolute blast!
Local Music Week
March 19, 2025
With an exciting opportunity from Maude at Musiclandria in downtown Sacramento, we performed as part of the Local Music Week festival, headlining wednesday night. Our openers were shoegaze band Razor Glare and solo act Mister Magpie. Before the show, we went record shopping with Noah and Nathan from Mister Magpie. The venue had an eerie atmosphere, setting the mood for our set perfectly. We debuted a new song called "The Basement" and got the audience to break out into rave energy. We had lots of fun and would love to play at Musiclandria again.
MFA Unplugged
February 28, 2025
Our February 28th acoustic show at Waterman Brewery had a small but engaged crowd. Under a star-lit night sky, We performed our songs, as well as covers of My Chemical Romance, Incubus, Death Cab for Cutie, and Vampire Weekend, aiming for an MTV Unplugged-style show. We typically rely on technology, but we managed to pull off the show using a sampling pad and keyboard, without any tracks, triggers, or MIDI. We were grateful to have Brody Roberts join us onstage to sing a Stephen Sanchez song. Despite the intimate atmosphere, we put on a great performance with a mix of covers and original music.
New Year's Party
December 28, 2024
December 28th was a special evening as we hosted our New Year's Party at Waterman Brewery in Elk Grove. Even though we were confined to the small bar area rather than the spacious back patio, the crowd packed in tightly, giving the place a lively sardines-in-a-tin atmosphere. The vibe was intense and upbeat as our fans got pumped up to see MFA perform live. Throughout the set, we played through a selection of songs that we played at our gigs this year, and the audience responded enthusiastically. We managed to kick off a mosh pit in the limited space, showing that the crowd was up for a wild ride.
Anthony's 30th
December 19, 2024
On December 19th, we had the privilege of opening for The Fontaine Classic at Anthony Uribe's 30th Birthday Party at SacYard Taphouse. Despite being the opening act, the audience's response to our set was overwhelming. The energy in the room was electrifying and the applause was loud and sustained. The crowd's reaction made it clear that they were impressed by our performance and the atmosphere we created was riotous.
Halloween Gig
October 26, 2024
We're stoked to share that we recently played a Halloween show on October 26. Our openers were 90's rock cover band 5DK and solo act Brody Roberts. The outdoor venue was packed full of excited fans enjoying a night of great music and costumes. We played an awesome set that got the crowd buzzing, and received lots of positive feedback on our performance. It was a great night overall, and we look forward to bringing the same energy and good vibes to future shows.
