I am a PhD candidate in the Philosophy Department at Columbia University in the City of New York.
I research the philosophy of action. In addition to action theory, my work draws on the philosophy of mind, epistemology, and ethics. I am especially interested in the interconnections between inferring (reasoning to a conclusion) and intentionally acting. This is a theme of my dissertation, Agency and the Attitudes: Responsibility Through Reasoning. You can read more on the Research page.
Before coming to Columbia to commence my doctoral studies, I received an MA (2012) from San Francisco State University and a BA (2008) from the University of California, Los Angeles (all in Philosophy).
In years between educational stints, I worked in Seoul, South Korea as an English instructor and in Silicon Valley, CA at a tech startup. When not at work, I enjoy bicycling and learning analog photography.
