My main research interests lie in the intersection of philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and metaphysics. I take a naturalistic approach to questions in philosophy of mind, which sees philosophy as continuous with the sciences. I am also interested in questions about philosophical methodology.
Recently, I have been working on the nature of self-control, particularly on the nature of the trait or traits, if any, that enable humans to intelligently manage their impulses and desires. My book, Rethinking Self-Control, was published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis in January 2025. You can read about some of the ideas in it in this article.
