About Me

My mathematical research lies at the interface between number theory, algebraic geometry, complex dynamics, and combinatorics. These days I'm particularly interested in Berkovich spaces, tropical geometry, and matroids. As an Associate Dean in the Georgia Tech College of Sciences, I lead faculty hiring, mentoring, and promotion & tenure and work on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In my spare time, I write a math blog and create and perform original magic tricks.
