Various animals live all over the world, adapting to various environments. Through my research on primates, I am interested in clarifying how animals have evolved and adapted to their current habitats. After studying wild spider monkeys that live in the Amazon forests of South America, I began researching proboscis monkeys, an endemic species of Borneo in Southeast Asia, in 2005. In addition to my research on proboscis monkeys, I am currently also researching Abyssinian colobus monkeys that live in the tropical forests of Uganda in East Africa.
