Matilda Boese-Wong ✩˚.⋆☾⋆
Matilda Boese-Wong is a Chinese/Japanese Kiwi filmmaker working across producing, directing and art department. As a mixed Asian New Zealander, she has felt deeply affected by the limited diversity on our screens and is committed to authentically showcasing narratives that often go unheard or misrepresented. Leading her to be a founding member of the Pan Asian Screen Collective.
Her multifaceted portfolio includes shorts, series, documentary, and NZOnAir-funded music videos. Her work has also featured in the Asian Aotearoa Arts Hui, NZ Portrait Gallery and Wellington Museum. A 2020 MFA graduate, she's skilled in production and management, most recently at Useful Media and as National Coordinator for The Vista Foundation 48Hours. She is currently producing a Day One Shorts documentary - Gloss Finish and has been selected for PASC’s Episode One: Redux programme. Recent production work includes: Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant, Last Home Renters for The Spinoff, Little Apocalypse for TVNZ+, Gatecrash (NZ’s best NZIFF), and Conspiraseries (RNZ’s Tahi).
