Math with Adina

The meaning is in the arrows

Who am I?

I’m Adina (Goldberg), a mathematician, educator, and canoeist, not necessarily in that order. Also now a mama! The meaning is in the arrows can be interpreted as a mathematical motto, an educational motto, a canoeing motto, and even a personal/parenting motto. Ask me how!

Why are you here?

You may be visiting me here because of shared (or suspected shared) research interests, maybe for educational purposes, or maybe because you want to know what kind of things go through my head. Maybe you just need to make sure I’m legit, in which case here is my CV. Maybe I took you on a canoe trip once and you saw I had a website. Maybe you consider yourself to be non-adjacent to math and wonder what I do.

An example of me going outside. My distinctive curly hair is hiding.

Where am I now?

I am a PhD student at the University of Waterloo in the Pure Math department, working with Michael Brannan ever since my previous advisor Vern Paulsen retired. I'm working remotely from Vancouver this term (Spring 2024), where my spouse is a postdoc doing combinatorics at SFU.
