Mission
As a group of underrepresented mathematicians, we know first hand the many challenges and situations underrepresented students must navigate in order to successfully complete a mathematics PhD. We now bring our shared experiences to organize SWAGGER: Summer Workshop for Achieving Greater Graduate Educational Readiness, a workshop whose mission is to provide strategies and community to incoming and current mathematics graduate students so that they too may thrive in their graduate studies and in their professional careers.

Creating a safe space for students to share their graduate school experiences and concerns, as well as learn from the experiences of others.
Preparing students with tools, skills, and ideas to improve their graduate school experience.
Providing students with access to new people and perspectives for advising and mentorship.
Providing students with a larger community of peers to collaborate and confide in.
