About the Department
The Department of Mathematical was started on November 02, 2020 as one of the five departments of science faculty in Rangapara College with the objective of producing trained manpower for teaching and undertaking research in mathematics and allied branches of basic and applied sciences. The Department also aimed to groom trained young students for problem solving in industry and other concerns. The Department offers a three years under-graduate honors program in Mathematics. Currently the Department has three permanent faculty members. The faculty members are actively engaged in research activities.

The vision of the department is to be among the best mathematics department in north east regions in both teaching and research as well as to get international exposure.
Mission
Mission
To produce under-graduate students with strong foundation to join NIT, IIT, IISER, ISI, CMI, HRI, IMSc, TIFR and other higher educational institutes in India and abroad to pursue their higher education in Mathematics.
To create a healthy atmosphere to produce good research articles.
To transform young people to competent and motivated professionals with sound theoretical and practical knowledge of Mathematics through innovative teaching and research methodologies.
To cater to the development of the North-East region, particularly local area through research, consultancy and training activities.
