POCKER SAHIB MEMORIAL ORPHANAGE COLLEGE was established in 1968 under Tirurangadi Muslim orphanage committee.It was upgraded as a first grade college in 1972 and a Post Graduate College in 1980. MK Haji founded Tirurangadi orphanage as a helping hand for the children of the victims of cholera epidemics in 1943. Up to this day, the college and orphanage work with the motive of welfare, with no deviation.The college has emerged as one of the premier institutions of higher learning under Calicut University in terms of infrastructure, programmes, staff and student strength.
Department of mathematics was established in 1968 as a Pre-Degree First Group (Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry) program. Later on 1972 BSc Program and on 1980 MSc Program was started. At present department has nine faculties.The department is facilitated with a well equipped computer lab. The main objective of the department is to impart quality education to those who seeking admission to UG & PG programs.
PSMO College Library contains wide ranging books on various topics like Calculus, Real Analysis, Topology, Algebra and so on.... in UG & PG Mathematics section. We can access to electronic copy of lots of mathematics book using PSMO Digital Library. Library also includes both softcopy and hardcopy of science journals and other useful materials.
