Welcome to MathPractice AI ("the App"), a service provided by Starkinfo Consulting ("we," "us," "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your children.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). Please read this policy carefully.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you are a parent or guardian, you provide consent for us to collect and use your child's information as described herein.
We may collect information about you and your child in a variety of ways.
For Children (Child Accounts):
Anonymous Account: We allow children to use the App without providing any personal information through an anonymous "guest" account. This generates an internal Anonymous User ID to save progress. This progress is stored only on the device and will be permanently lost if the app is uninstalled or data is cleared.
Linked Account: To save progress permanently and use social features, a parent or guardian can link the child's account to a permanent account (e.g., Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In). When linking, we may collect:
Display Name
Email Address (from the parent's or child's linked account)
A unique User ID
Profile Photo (if provided by the linked service)
For Parents (Parent Dashboard Accounts):
Email Address
Password
Information you provide about your linked child's account.
When your child uses the App, we collect data tied to their User ID to provide the service and show progress:
Practice Session Data: Operation type (addition, etc.), difficulty, score, total questions, correct answers, duration, and accuracy.
Gamification Data: Total XP, level, daily streak, last practice date, and operation mastery scores.
Social Data: A unique, auto-generated "Friend Code" and a list of friends (if added).
Achievements: A list of achievements your child has unlocked.
Settings: In-app preferences, such as sound settings.
We automatically collect specific usage information for analytics and app improvement:
Custom Analytics: We log practice sessions, achievements unlocked, level-ups, and streak updates to an internal analytics service to provide aggregated statistics to you and your linked parent.
Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to collect technical and usage data, such as device type, OS version, crash reports, and general app interaction events (e.g., features used, session duration).
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your accounts.
Provide the core gameplay and track your child's learning progress.
Display progress, XP, levels, and achievements.
Operate social features, such as leaderboards and friends lists (displaying only the User's "Display Name" and "Total XP").
Allow linked Parents to view their child's detailed performance and usage data via the Parent Dashboard.
Analyze usage to find and fix bugs and improve the App's features and performance.
Check for required app updates using Firebase Remote Config.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:
A parent or guardian who has successfully linked to a child's account through the Parent Dashboard will have access to all of that child's collected data, including personal data, usage data, and performance data.
Your child's Display Name and Total XP may be visible to other users on the public leaderboard. If your child adds friends, their friends may be able to see their Display Name and progress; and friend code.
We use Google Firebase as a third-party service to provide our backend infrastructure.
Firebase Authentication handles user login (including anonymous, email, and Google/Apple sign-in).
Cloud Firestore (Google) securely stores all user data (profiles, progress, analytics) on our behalf.
Firebase Analytics (Google) processes usage data. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
We use Firebase's secure Cloud Firestore database to store your data. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no security system is impenetrable.
We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, which is obtained when a Parent links their account to a child's account or links the child's account to a Google/Apple profile.
Parents/guardians can:
Review their child's personal information.
Request deletion of their child's account and data.
Refuse to allow further collection or use of their child's information.
To do so, please contact us.
You can access and update your Display Name at any time through the Profile screen. You may request to delete your account by contacting us.
Anonymous Account Data is not recoverable. If you uninstall the App while using an anonymous account, all progress data will be lost. We strongly encourage linking an account to save progress.
Our Service relies on Google Firebase. We are not responsible for the data collection practices of Google. We recommend you review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.
