Learning Styles & Study Techniques - It is easy to fall into the trap that the more you practice, the better you get. Students are frequently burnt-out from the nth math problem and they still just aren't getting it. Everyone learns differently and so I spend deliberate time supporting what works for you and helping replace what doesn't.
Use Technology as a Tool - Math applications and AI tools are sometimes viewed in a negative light. It is because they are frequently misused. I will discuss how to use technology as a tool, not a crutch, to help learn and study concepts needed to be successful.
Patience - I have been working with students of all ages with music and math for two decades. I've heard it all! I have a lot of experience with students that had hard-earned wins. I frequently remind students not to compare to others, but to measure their accomplishments, no matter how small they might seem. It always surprises others how quickly a small win can snowball into confidence and success.
