My name is Peter Stika. I have spent most of my life fully committing to my interests. I have learned a lot about a variety of subjects and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you!

At a young age, my love for music inspired me to play guitar every free moment I had. I worked at a local music school the day I signed my working papers at 14 years old. I spent time working in the office and teaching private lessons for the next 15 years. I earned an Associates in Applied Science in Music Performance from SUNY Orange in 2014 (Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member). I've played in multiple bands performing at local venues, including the Chance Theatre in Poughkeepsie, NY. I've performed diverse genres such as country, alternative rock, classic rock, jazz, and classical.

Math was also always an interest of mine, but my passion for it was unlocked during an Acoustics course I took at SUNY Orange. I never thought of Math as beautiful until I was introduced to the undeniable relationship Math and Music share. This discovery created a hunger in me to learn more. I earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Mathematics from SUNY Empire State with honors in 2019 with the intention to teach mathematics. In 2022 I graduated with honors from SUNY New Paltz with a Master of Arts in Teaching. I am currently a licensed and employed Secondary Level (grades 7 - 12) Mathematics Teacher in New York State. It is a privilege to work with our youth and help them discover the world of math every day.

In 2021, my wife and I adopted our first amazing dog, Winston, a clever and loyal Australian Shepard. We have enjoyed raising and training him. He has learned to fetch the TV remote and put away his own toys on command. In 2023, we adopted our second dog, Rowley, an initially anxious rescue that we have nurtured and trained to come out of his shell. He is now a very happy and energetic dog who loves nothing more than playing outside with his ball. I have discovered a love for all dogs and enjoy spending time with them whether it is nap time on the couch, a trip to the dog park, or a hike on a trail.
