The Department of Mathematics was established in 2008 at Government Degree College, Cheepurupalli, at the time of its inception, and is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. It is dedicated to fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. The department offers undergraduate programs that emphasize both theoretical and applied mathematical approaches, preparing the students for career in academia, research and industry. The department is equipped with experienced and well-qualified faculty and a commitment to academic excellence. The department encourages student participation in Seminars, Projects and competetive examinations to enhance their mathematical proficiency.

Presently the Department is headed by Sri A. Chandra Mouli and consist one guest faculty Sri K. Ramesh.

• Promotion of Higher Education: Many students have been encouraged and supported to pursue postgraduate studies in Mathematics and related fields.

• Notable Student Success:

  • Mugada Vijayalakshmi set a benchmark by securing State Level 3rd Rank in APPGCET Mathematics.

  • Numerous students have achieved commendable ranks in various PG entrance examinations.

• Employment and Service Sector Success: Several alumni have been selected for prestigious roles in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Postal Department, Police Department, and good positions in the Private sector.

• Alumni as Faculty: Former students P. Chittodu and K. Ramesh, who completed their PG in Mathematics, have returned as faculty members in the department, inspiring and guiding the current generation of learners.
