Budgeting My Time in an Asynchronous Course
Your class is conducted entirely online asynchronously- without a live lecture. It has been divided into weekly modules with units on our Brightspace page to deliver content. This content represents the work you will cover on your own during the week. I have divided your course calendar into two weekday "sessions" so you can pace yourself. This course outline reflects a similar calendar used by your peers in a traditional class meeting face-to-face two days a week. Visualizing this more traditional structure will enable you to plan your work efficiently and stay on track with Exit Ticket submissions.
With any fully online class, imagine how many hours you would meet face-to-face and add at least two hours of homework per session. So, for example, if our class met three hours a week, two one-and-a-half-hour sessions, I would add four hours of homework per week to budget seven hours for weekly course completion total. Therefore, you should budget seven hours for the asynchronous version of that same class. It would be wise to imagine that this course will consume seven hours of work time each week.
