Breakout Rooms
We have short (5-10 minute) breakout sessions between the talks, during which you are randomly assigned to a room. The aim of these sessions is to (i) meet new people working on similar/related topics, and/or (ii) discuss or ask questions about aspects of the talks.
Ideally everyone will turn on their camera and briefly introduce themselves (even if you already know some of the people in the room, there will almost certainly be someone else who doesn't). Please try to avoid any one person talking for too long, and be friendly and welcoming.
If your room has very few people in it, it may be that the others have had to leave - feel free to return to the main room and we can send you to a different room!
If you are stuck for things to talk about, here are some suggestions:
What information / figure / image stuck in your head from the previous talk?
I didn't understand X during the previous talk. Can anyone explain it to me?
Is there something in the previous talk that you found new / intriguing?
Does the last talk connect to any of your research?
or more general things:
What are you currently working on (e.g. what did you do today / yesterday?)
Have you been to a conference / workshop / summer school? What did you most like about it?
What's the weather like where you are?
