Hello, I'm Sandra Orrego, but you can call me Ms. Sandra. Originally from Cali, Colombia, I graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente with a major in Industrial Engineering. With over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, I honed my collaborative and problem-solving skills, which have greatly influenced my approach to teaching Math in a relatable manner. I obtained my secondary teaching Math certification from The College of New Jersey in 2014 and am currently pursuing my Master's in Education.
Throughout the past years, I have had the privilege of teaching various Math subjects, including Pre-Algebra I, Pre-Algebra II, Algebra 1, and Geometry, Consumer Math to students ranging from grades 6th to 10th. On this website, you will find a plethora of resources that can help you learn at your own pace or with my assistance.
What I find truly exciting about teaching Math is its omnipresence in our daily lives. It allows me to be creative and demonstrate how its principles can be applied to real-life situations. Structured notes are something I greatly value, and I enjoy utilizing Interactive Notebooks as they facilitate students' reading, reviewing, and reflecting on their learning. Additionally, I firmly believe that Math provides an excellent opportunity to develop 21st-century skills and a growth mindset. As such, I strive to integrate hands-on learning activities and real-world applications that foster critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and creativity. I'm always on the lookout for fresh ideas that present concepts to my students in a fun and engaging manner.

Outside of the classroom, I am an enthusiast of yoga, dancing, and surfing. Teaching abroad grants me the wonderful chance to meet new people and explore diverse cultures, which I thoroughly enjoy.
