My ultimate goal is to become the best math tutor I can possibly be, and also to use what I've learned from working with the Math Center in future jobs.

Work Goals

Math Hacks (Video Project)

Status: Nearly Complete

Producing a series of mini educational videos hosted by Math Center tutors that could be added to the D2L sites for the various mathematic courses. These videos would be at most 5 minutes in length and would cover a specific topic from that course (i.e. The Splitting Hairs Principle from Quantitative Reasoning). It would be my job to create a test video by the end of February 2023, which would then become the template to produce a guideline for how other tutors would make their own videos.

Programming Wizard (Course Learning)

Status: Starting Soon

Embedding into either ITSE 1330 or ITSE 1332/1432 would help me achieve an introductory to intermediate level of knowledge in either C# or Visual Basic programming. This would give me a more specialized role and attract more students to the Math Center.

Public Speaker Number One (Public Speaking & Presentations)

Status: COMPLETED

By giving a total of 4 presentations, 3 in the 2022-2023 academic year alone, I hope to improve my public speaking skills. These presentations will be as follows: the soft skills presentation/workshop in February 21, 2023, how to create instructional videos (given to fellow tutors only) in April 14, 2023, and the prototype game design presentation/workshop (given to fellow tutors only) in Summer 2023 (Date is TBD).

Personal Goals

The Catalogue of Non-Existent Games (Zine/Booklet Writing)

Status: COMPLETED

I wish to create a zine/booklet that functions as a catalogue for a fictional pair of game systems called the Mini Q and the Mega Q. There are currently 7 mock-up pieces completed in the genres of FPS, Action-RPG, Space-Sim, Visual Novel, Trading Card Game, Metroidvania, and Monster Tamer. My aim is to have 6 or 7 unique titles for the Mega Q, 6 or 7 for the Mini Q, and 2 to 4 titles that would be for both systems. This booklet would be roughly 20 to 28 pages and be digitally available on my Itch.IO profile and physical copies may be available for purchase on  my Etsy Store.

Novel Ideas (Novel Writing)

Status: In Progress

My goal for this is to write a novel that is at least 50,000 words by the end of July or August 2023. As of February 10, 2023, I have already written 30,827 words, but progress has stalled. I have an editor that is currently waiting on me to finish the rough draft, so to keep them from waiting any more, I should be done writing by the deadline specified just above.
