It has been a long time since I checked this site. I was wondering who else is still browsing through it.

I subscribe to any changes and so noticed your message.

A lot of these sessions are going to be the basis for work in the new coaching initiative.

games :)

tracymckinley Dec 3, 2008

Hi folks :)

I'm not sure if anyone is still checking this site... hopefully :)

I'm looking for a few games that we played this summer.

Quarto, Quoridor and Pylos... does anyone know where I can purchase these?

Thanks :)

Tracy :)

rossisen Dec 4, 2008

I have seen Quarto and Pylos in all kinds of places. Do you have access to a good toy and game store?

I found this link http://www.drexollgames.com/sitemap.html but know nothing about those folks.

I think kayeappleby at sympatico period ca brought the games and might know more.

mathliisa Jan 21, 2009

I ordered them online at amazon after playing them this summer. My students love them!

Wikispaces!

crichtw Sep 30, 2008

I'm not sure if anyone is still looking at this wikispace, but had to let someone there know that (gulp) I took the plunge and set up a wikispace for my classroom. I'm waiting for approval to use it, but that should be coming shortly. If you're out there, THANK YOU JUDY, ROSS and GREG!!!

We are still here!

We would love to have the address so that we could lurk.

Math Camppp Health Check

mlieff Aug 27, 2008

I am a miracle of science! When I stepped on the scale yesterday I had gained...nothing! Umpiring 8 games at a provincial tournament in London on the weekend may have helped to offset the steady diet of kettle chips. I was relieved nonetheless.

Hope you're all doing well.

Connections

MatthueLove Aug 20, 2008

I have a question for you: How does teaching through problem solving connect to differentiating instruction?

smoloney1 Aug 21, 2008

Mathuelove I am learning a ton at math camp. Lots of tech stuff, how to ask "good questions," great problem solving ideas, DI and cool functions. I am building my math tool kit.

Now, are you also know as Shirley?

waltert Aug 21, 2008

OK, just so you don't think I haven't been paying attention. Two of the things that I have learned that I can start using immediately are how to readily modify conventional questions into more open ended questions and how to use parallel tasks to make problems more accessible for all students while still maintaining some control of the direction I want students to head towards.

So Mathue, is your hair shorter than 4 inches?

MatthueLove Aug 21, 2008

tangelin, No relatives here

waltert, yes and no

tangelin Aug 21, 2008

This week has been a wonderful experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed connecting with colleagues. Wiki's are also fun! Now, since we are on the topic of hair, what colour is yours at the moment ? Also, do you like tennis?

waltert Aug 21, 2008

Question # 4 Matthue: Do you have brown eyes?

MatthueLove Aug 21, 2008

Hi waltert, #4 yes

waltert Aug 21, 2008

Question # 5: Did you travel more than 250 km to come to this camp?

MatthueLove Aug 21, 2008

Hi waltert #5 No

MatthueLove Aug 22, 2008

Hi everyone,

Hey we're running out of time...just who am I...only the wiki will answer that question. If you ask me when you see me I'll likely respond with an evasive answer or I might even lie. (I'm okay with that because I'm only Matthue Love on the wiki)

So ask lots of questions that require a yes or no answer (this is the opposite of open-ended)

yesterday tangelin asked two questions which I will rephrase to give you a head start:

Is your hair blonde? No

Do you play tennis? No

The winner will get a prize.

MatthueLove Aug 22, 2008

Hi again,

This morning I learned that I made a mistake when I posted something to the wiki; if you find it you should be able to figue out who I am.

MatthueLove Aug 22, 2008

Shelley I'm not that easily tricked
