Syllabus:  This course will cover rings, fields, and Galois theory, and time-permitting, modules. In Artin, Algebra, 2st

edition, we will cover sections 11.4 to 11.8, 12.1 to 12.3, and chapters 15 and 16. If there is time to cover

modules, we will also cover part of chapter 14. This course is a continuation of Math 30810.

Grading: The final grade will be a based on instructor’s discretion and a weighted average of the grades on the

homework, quizzes, hour exams, and final exam as follows:
