Welcome to Statistics!
Hi everyone. Welcome to Math 110, Statistics! I'm Josh Robles and I will be your statistics consultant this semester. I'm excited to help guide you through the world of data and statistics.
I know statistics, and math in general, can be a tough and anxiety-inducing subject for some but I truly believe that math is not a “talent”. We can all succeed in mathematics if given the right tools and a space to discuss, practice, and learn. So, in this course, I plan to support and guide you to an understanding of statistics.
This site contains information about our course. It is also linked on Canvas if you need to revisit it throughout the semester. If you are on a mobile device, select the "hamburger" menu at the top explore your syllabus.
The Pronto app is the best way to contact me. But, if you need to send a more detailed question, you can use the Canvas inbox or my direct email jrobles@craftonhills.edu. If you have not heard back within 24 hours (unless over the weekend), send a nicely worded reply and I should get it the second time. 😅
Your questions are important to me! Please take advantage of this time by coming to ask about specific problems, to talk about our course in general, or just to chat. I appreciate it when students take initiative to get help and further their learning for the course. I hope to see almost everyone in studyhours a few times over the course of the semester.
I will be holding office hours on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 - 1:30 pm and Tuesdays from 1:30 - 2:30 pm. I welcome you to contact me outside of that time and will be happy to arrange a different meeting time in Zoom or in person that accommodates both of our schedules.
The times that I have listed as study hours is time for you. It is time that I have dedicated to be available for whatever you may need. I might be working doing other work, but once you show up (in person or on Zoom) I will be there to chat.
Note: Any information in this syllabus is tentative and may change at the discretion of the instructor at any time. I will notify you of any substantive changes to the syllabus.
