MathZap is a mathematics practice app designed to help children improve their mental maths skills. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user or parent/guardian.
By using MathZap, you agree to the terms described in this policy.
MathZap is developed and published by VishKar.

• Awards and certificates earned
• Student name (entered voluntarily for certificate generation)
• Selected colour theme preference
• Number range preference per topic
This data is stored using Android SharedPreferences and is only accessible by the MathZap app on your device.
MathZap does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:
• Personal information such as name, email address, or date of birth
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Usage analytics or crash reports sent to external servers
• Any data from children
MathZap does not display advertisements. There are no ad SDKs integrated into the app, and no advertising networks are used.
MathZap requests the following permissions, which are explained below:
• INTERNET — Required by the Android system for certain libraries. MathZap itself does not make any network requests and does not transmit user data.
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Required to check network connectivity. MathZap does not use this to transmit data.
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below only) — Required to save PDF certificates and fluency reports to your device.
• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only) — Required to read files when sharing PDFs via other apps.
On Android 10 and above, PDFs are saved to internal app storage and shared securely via Android's FileProvider, with no external storage permission required.
MathZap can generate PDF certificates and fluency reports. These PDFs:
• Are created entirely on your device
• Contain only the student name you enter and game statistics stored locally
• Are saved to your device's internal app storage
• Are shared only when you explicitly choose to share them using Android's share sheet
We do not upload, store, or access any generated PDFs.
MathZap is designed for use by children and complies with applicable children's privacy laws including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK Children's Code.
MathZap does not collect, transmit, store, or receive personal information from children. Any student name entered for certificate generation is stored only on the user's device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
All data generated by the app remains on the device and is never transmitted externally.
Parents and guardians can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data via Android Settings → Apps → MathZap → Clear Data.
All data stored by MathZap exists solely on your device. You can delete it at any time:
• Uninstall the app to remove all data permanently
• Go to Settings → Apps → MathZap → Clear Data to reset scores and preferences
We do not retain any data on external servers, because we do not collect any.
MathZap does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app uses the following open-source Android libraries for core functionality only, none of which transmit personal data:
