Hello! Welcome to my homepage. I am Howen Chuah, a 5th year math graduate student at Purdue math. Prior to joining Purdue math in 2022, I received my Bachelor degree in electronics engineering in 2021 in National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan. I expect to graduate by 2027 May. I plan to find both a postdoc position and a teaching position.
I am currently under the supervision of Professor Monica Torres and Professor Stefania Patrizi. I work on a kind of elliptic and parabolic system modelling segregation of populations and the related free boundary problems. The system is interesting, as it links elliptic and parabolic PDE, free boundary problems, geometric measure theory, mathematical modelling, etc. I am open and interested to explore other related fields, including (but not limited to): Calculus of Variation, Probability, Nonlocal Operators. Please see below for my Curriculum Vitae and Statement of Purpose.
Outside Mathematics, I enjoy playing badminton and swimming. (Last Updated: August 31st, 2026)
