Math Exploration Camp for students in grades 9-12
Dates: June 16-19, 2025 (Monday thru Thursday)
Location: North Dakota State University
What? Math exploration camp is a week-long camp for students in grades 9-12 interested in mathematics. The topics explored will be different from the usual high school math curriculum and relate to current mathematics research in the area of combinatorics!
How? We will spend each morning working in teams and all together to discover neat things about interesting mathematical objects. Each afternoon, we will spend time in the computer lab learning how to computationally explore mathematical objects to find and test mathematical ideas.
Who?
Participants: Students in grades 9-12 interested in mathematics.
Instructors: NDSU Professor Dr. Jessica Striker, Dr. Dylan Heuer (Professor at Milwaukee School of Engineering and NDSU Alum), and Ashleigh Adams (NDSU graduate student).
Cost: FREE (funded by the National Science Foundation and NDSU Mathematics Department) but registration is required.
Prerequisites: None, other than mathematical curiosity and a desire to learn and explore!
Times: The camp will run 9am - 4pm Monday thru Thursday (with lunch provided). (Not a residential camp.)
