The math and science center is ready to help you with all levels of Math including Calculus III and Sciences including Biology, Physics, Chemistry and A & P. We have both professional and peer tutors waiting to help you with an overview, homework, or test prep. Students are welcomed to come on their own, but group work is encouraged and supported.

If there is a tutor embedded in your course, please be sure to attend their sessions and utilize their services. The Embedded Tutor should be your primary source for peer assistance and learning support.

The Math and Science Learning Center is here to support you in your math and/or science courses. We offer tutoring and support for most Math, Science and Allied Health classes. Tutoring is available for all Delta College students!

There's no cost and no appointment needed. Just browse to your subject and course to view the schedule. DAYTIME is in-person. EVENINGS are on Zoom, just click the name of the tutor to log onto their Zoom meeting.

Choose the subject, choose the course, then click the tutor's name. That's all it takes to Zoom with one of our great tutors. There's no cost and no appointment needed for most courses. Our friendly, helpful tutors are here to help you with your math and science questions. Our goal is to help you really understand the topic you are studying so that you feel confident when it comes time to complete your homework, lab report, exam, etc.

Our tutors are selected based on superior communication skills and content knowledge. They have successfully completed these same courses and have been recommended by their professors to help you. Please email Dr. Richter-Egger if you have any questions or other needs.

The STC is currently open for the Fall 2023 semester from Tuesday, September 5th to Thursday, December 14th. In-person tutoring is available free of charge, and appointments are not required. Additionally, we offer a limited number of online appointments along with daily drop-in sessions.

The MASS Center includes free tutor-supported study tables for many undergraduate mathematics courses, in addition to several science courses that require strong mathematical competency. The MASS Center also offers a 1-credit hour course, MATH 1096 Supplemental Review Sessions (SRS) to assist students with their math course.

The MASS Center offers study tables for several courses across the university. By reviewing the schedule below and attending the study table for their course at the assigned time, students can guarantee that a tutor will be available to support them and their fellow classmates when they arrive.

Students are welcome to drop into the MASS Center during a time their course is not offered. MASS Tutors may be able to assist them with their course outside of the listed hours. Students can check with the MASS Front Desk Assistant to see if a tutor is available.

Study tables provide a collaborative learning space so that students can learn from their peers who have excelled (the table leader) as well as their fellow class members attending the study table. Tutors at MASS study tables will not directly aid with graded homework or course assignments, nor do they "solve" the problems for students. Rather, MASS Center tutors will work with you to determine how to succeed in your class and with a given content question.

The SMLC opens for the semester on Wednesday, August 30th! The SMLC is located on the 1st floor of the Student Success Center! We have a team of peer tutors and faculty members who provide FREE drop-in cafe-style tutoring in our supported courses in person Monday through Thursday from 11am to 8pm (some disciplines end at 7pm on select evenings). The SMLC offers a FREE synchronous virtual drop-in cafe-style tutoring service for JMU students enrolled in our supported courses where you can consult with a tutor online through Zoom. No appointments!

The Academic Success Center offers free peer tutoring services in core Math, Science, and Humanities courses for Georgia Southern students, both virtually and in person. For students on the Armstrong Campus, please visit us in the Student Success Center. For students on the Statesboro Campus, please visit us in the Henderson Library (first floor).

While peer tutoring is provided for a variety of courses, it is not available in every subject area. However, we are happy to refer students to free tutoring services offered by academic departments or by Tutor.com (see below).

The Engineering Learning Center (ELC) on the Armstrong Campus serves as a place where students can get free tutoring from their peers for several challenging engineering courses. It is also a place to study, meet other engineering students, meet faculty, meet for study groups and build long-lasting friendships. Visit our website here.

The Geology and Geography Department has free tutoring for students taking introductory geology courses: GEOL 1121 lecture and lab & GEOL 1340 lecture and lab. These appointments will be hosted virtually through Zoom. Please contact the department for more information by calling 912-478-5361.

Student-Athlete Services has free tutoring available for Georgia Southern student-athletes through virtual platforms in Fall 2020. A limited number of in-person appointments are also available. Social distancing and masks will be required during these sessions. While tutoring is provided for a variety of courses, tutoring is not available in every subject area. Student-Athlete Services offers tutoring in core Math, Science, Humanities, and select Psychology and Sociology courses. To request an appointment, students should reach out to their Athletic Academic Advisor.

The University Writing Center has free tutoring available for all Georgia Southern students both in-person and through our online platform. Visit the Writing Center webpage here for details. In-person appointments are available on both campuses on a drop-in basis. The Writing Center works with writing projects from all courses at all levels as well as application essays, posters, and other academic genres.

The Tutoring Program does not directly provide private tutoring. However, we do maintain a list of tutors who are interested in being informed of private tutoring opportunities. Our Peer Educators (tutors) mainly help students with Mathematics and Computer Science. That is, we assist learners who are in courses that have a MATH or CS prefix. We are mainly a drop-in tutoring center so you do not need to make an appointment to use our services. You can simply come by Stillwell 437 and check in at the kiosk with your catcards, take a seat, and ask us for help with your math and/or computer science course(s). The Mathematics and Computer Science Tutoring Center (MTC) works along with the Writing and Learning Commons (WaLC) to provide FREE tutoring services for WCU students and support services for WCU faculty and staff. The MTC is currently located in Stillwell 437 (within the MCS Department), and we are closely connected with the Math and Computer Science Department.

Face to Face Drop-in Tutoring: Drop-in Tutoring for Math and Computer Science courses is available when the MTC is open. You DO NOT need an appointment! Please, just stop by Stillwell 437, and bring your textbook(s), notes, and whatever else you are working on that is related to your math or computer science class.
