Background problems :
Water pollution is a large problem in our world, considering that 97% of all the world's water is undrinkable, and we wanted to see the factors of water pollution, so we had a question "Does heat affect the acidity and bacterial components of water?" With this, we can observe if heat can help raise PH levels and lower bacterial content for areas that are in need of more drinkable water.
Experiment :
Our experiment has 3 different parts, the first is to collect 3 samples of water from different sources place and see the difference between PH levels. For our experiment, we collected water samples from a pool, s a pond and tap water from the school.
The second experiment includes 3 samples from the same source. Each sample of water will have different temperature such as Hot, room temperature, and cold . We want to see weather or not the temperature will effect the PH levels .
Lastly, an experiment where we drop our water samples with different temperatures into an agar solution, where we leave it for a number of days for the bacteria colonies to grow. We will observe the difference of bacteria colonies between room temperature water samples and heated water samples.
