Three tests and a comprehensive final exam will be given during the semester.
I allow the use of your graphing calculator and a 3" x 5" card of notes on tests.
Tentative Test dates are listed in Canvas and on the Important Dates and Tentative Course Schedule page of this syllabus.
I do not drop any test scores. If you miss a test, you can make it up. Please see the Make-Up Tests section below for more information.

Our Math 1C Final Exam is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, from 7:00 - 9:45 AM and must be taken at this time.
(And no, that's not a typo - SRJC goes to block scheduling for finals week, which is why the time of our final exam is slightly earlier than our usual class schedule.)

If you know you will be absent or are ill on the day of a scheduled test, please tell me in person or e-mail me in advance of the scheduled test.
If you miss a test, you may make it up on a Tuesday or Thursday from 10 - Noon.
Make-up tests must be made up within one week of the original test date.
Please note that this is NOT a re-take opportunity – this policy is designed to give students who miss a test the chance to demonstrate their understanding of the material so they can earn those missing points.

I strongly encourage students to work together outside of class on homework assignments. During class, I also encourage students to work together on class examples and group quizzes.
However, students must do their own work on tests.
There will be some resources allowed with most tests in this class. These resources will generally be restricted to a calculator (for some parts of some tests) and a formula sheet. (These resources will be specified before each test and will be listed at the top of the test.) No other resources (such as a textbook, class notes, computer, cell phone, etc.) will be allowed.
Students who cheat or assist other students in cheating will receive no credit (0%) on that test and a report documenting the incident will be filed.
A second offense may result in permanent dismissal from the class and an F in the course.
Long story short, please don't cheat!
