Below I have an overview of what our course will look like.
Our class will be meeting for the full class time, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 1:20 pm. on Zoom. Zoom Classroom. During class time you will be actively engaged in working on problems with your group. I do not require your cameras to be on in Zoom, but you are required to have access to audio over Zoom.
Exams will be proctored over Zoom and you will need to have access to a camera for those days only.
Many of your assignments and in-class activities will be done in groups. We will have different groups throughout the semester.
Our class does not have a traditional textbook. There is a workbook that you will be working through in class. You can purchase a printed copy of the workbook at the bookstore, print it yourself, or use the pdf.
Most of our assignments will be submitted through Canvas. In addition to your workbook, there are a full set of readings/notes on Canvas. You will read one page of notes and then answer a few homework questions directly after. Once you complete a module, there will be a quiz on that material.
We will be using StatCrunch, an online stats software, in our course. You will need to purchase a license for this, but it is only $15 for a 6-month subscription. Register for StatCrunch here. StatCrunch works through your web browser and should work well on any laptop, computer, or Chromebook. It may not work well on mobile devices. You can check out a Chromebook from the Library for the semester.
