I decided to dedicate a separate page to this project.
Since my teenage years, when I first picked up a guitar, I have had the ambition to write my own songs. Thank God for guiding my path so that I can not only play in church, lead worship, and serve in worship ministry, but also write songs for His glory. In our local church, we’ve been singing three songs I wrote for years. But in 2022, this aspect of my ministry began to gain momentum.
In 2022, a project called Studium Nowego Psalmu (New Psalm Study) launched in Poland for the first time. Its goal was to gather and train Polish worship songwriters in one year. By God’s grace, I was able to join this project. Through SNP, I met many artists from all over Poland, and after a year of studying together, we didn’t want to part ways—we wanted to create together. That’s how Pieśniopisarze (“Songwriters”) were born. I believe this is an initiative that God started in the Polish church. What you can see is that, in the language of our generation, we are describing God anew in songs. This began in 2022 and has continued to grow, producing more and more fruit.
From 2022 until today (2025), another year of graduates from SNP has joined the Songwriters, and now there are about 80 of us. These are 80 creators, musicians, poets, instrumentalists, and composers from all over Poland, who, filled with the Gospel, respond to it by writing “new songs for new times.”
Here is a link to the page where you can learn more about the initiatives around SNP and the Songwriters [Foundation page] (it's in polish)
Every year, we gather together for an intensive time of listening to God’s Word, inspiring one another, and writing songs. Thanks to these meetings, our group writes about 30 songs annually, so in total, around 90 songs have been created! Some of them we have even managed to record.
Below are links to two songs that I had the privilege to co-create.
Lyrics translation for Jesteś - You are
Even if the darkness of the deep sea swallows me,
You will be there with me,
Your hand will reach me,
You created me and you know me,
You surround me,
Chorus
It's too amazing to understand,
wherever I am, you are there,
and though sometimes I don't feel it,
wherever I am, you are,
and you won't ever leave my side,
your hand holds me,
When fear takes my voice,
and I have no strength to speak,
You hear the quietest whisper,
You know my every thought,
Before I open my mouth
You already know every word
Bridge:
In light and in darkness,
In joy or sadness,
You are so close to me,
In song and in silence,
In emptiness or gladness
You are so close to me,
In strength and in weakness,
In lack and in abundance,
You are close to me,
in health and in suffering,
in silence and in inspiration,
you are soclose to me,
Before "Songwriters" I've been writing too. The song above called Golgota - "Calvary" was the first song that was professionally recorded. I've written it in 2019 during the COVID lockdown . Here is the translation of the lyrics:
Verse:
I want to be obedient to you Lord
How to love my neighbor when they hurt me?
Your grace is boundless, I come to You
With all that’s within me, I remind myself
Chorus:
There on the Calvary, where Your cross stood
Your heart stopped beating
Like it is written, You rose again
by Your power defeating the grave
Verse 2:
You are my Lord, you saved me
You lead me into the unknown but I’m not afraid
Though everyday I stumble, you lift me with your grace
I come to You, You say that
Chorus 2:
There on the Calvary, where my cross stood
My heart stopped beating
Like it is written, I rose again
By my power defeating the grave
Bridge:
It is God the Man, He came to His possession
The only Son who voluntarily came to die
It is God the Man, He came to His possession
Lord of Heaven, became poor to redeem us
You live forever my Lord, my soul is shouting loud
That sweet taste of freedom, when I know that You are coming back
You live forever my Lord, my Spirit is whispering
That sweet taste of peace, when I know that You are coming back
The photo on the left mainly shows the leadership team of the New Psalm Studies (SNP), including consultations and lectures. Someone might ask, “What am I doing there?”—and that would be a great question. The diplomas we are holding were presented to us by the newest SNP graduates. They found the songs I have participated in writing and also written myself as a great inspiration. It is a great honor for me to be recognized among such a distinguished group of the entire songwriting community.
As the Songwriters group has grown, I was also invited by the main initiator and director of the Mate.o Foundation to join the so-called core team. This team’s task is to uphold the four most important values of the Songwriters:
Workshop – developing skills
Transformation – daily Christ-centered life focused on the Gospel
Community – multi-generational, eliminating competition within
Creativity – new songs for new times
I dedicated a separate page to the Songwriters because this initiative is very important to me. Besides gatherings for recordings, from time to time we meet with other worship pastors, usually in Warsaw, simply to talk and support each other in prayer. As people with a similar calling, scattered across Poland, we speak a similar language and understand each other on many levels. Such a community strengthens my faith and hope that eternity will be full of wonderful awe before our Holy God.
I believe that my place is also among the Songwriters, and whatever I have, whatever God has given me, I can give to others. I am eternally grateful to God that I can actively participate in His mission among Polish worship songwriters, serving churches of various denominations in Poland.
