About me

I hold a bachelor's degree in Economics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Uerj) and a master's degree from both the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Goethe University Frankfurt. I am completing a PhD at the University of Tübingen under the supervision of Professors Georg Wamser and Valeria Merlo. I am also an external researcher at the Bundesbank.

From 2021 to 2023, I worked for the World Bank Group as a short-term consultant (STC) on projects related to improving infrastructure in Brazil. I helped them with the sanitation firms' governance and digital inclusion topics. Moreover, I am involved in multiple consultancies regarding academic issues and mentoring for those who wish to pursue a career in academia.

My research interests include Applied Microeconomics, Public and Development Economics. More specifically, I want to understand how the government can collect more taxes without raising the rates but by mitigating tax avoidance and improving compliance using digitalization.  Furthermore, I want to understand how taxation impacts multinational firms' behavior, such as profit shifting, patent registration, and royalty payments
