It all began in December 2023, when our founder, Marie Braud—an avid nomad and traveller for the past 15 years—joined the Nomad Cruise, a voyage across the Atlantic to Brazil. During this journey, Marie noticed something striking: many digital nomads, despite their adventurous lives, were struggling to find meaningful relationships. With a background in headhunting and tech, Marie saw clear parallels between talent acquisition and matchmaking—the processes of interviewing, analyzing, and connecting people were similar.

In July 2024, Marie attended Nomad Fest, where over 200 participants joined a speed dating event that fell flat. Determined to create something better, she sent out a simple Google form to gather interest for a new event. Within 24 hours, 70 nomads had filled out the form, and 30 showed up for a unique matchmaking experience in the park. 

The success of that small event sparked a bigger idea. On a flight back from Bulgaria to Lisbon, as Marie observed countless travelers alone with their laptops at airports and single people scrolling on their phones, inspiration struck. It became clear that while connecting nomads was important, there was an even larger opportunity: matching all travelers, whether they were seeking love, business connections, or travel companions.
