A practical introduction to performing shape and topology optimization
Dreamlens is motivated by a specific vision of generative design— namely the challenges facing generative designers and the preferences and objectives of different kinds of generative designers (i.e. artists vs engineers). These conceptions directly motivate the feature Dreamlens and the envisioned workflows that designers will rely on when using the system. In your reflection discuss your views on the desirability and utility of the feature sets of the system. What features would you most benefit from? Which seem unnecessary or infeasible? Connect your discussion of the system features to a critical analysis of the original framing of generative designers and generative design challenges presented in the paper.
