Workshop Summaries

Song and Monologue

Students will learn how to research a show and find the perfect audition piece for the character of their choosing.

Creating a Book and Resume

Students will learn how to craft a theatrical resume and how to create an audition book full of suitable pieces for auditioning.

How to Dress for Success

Students will go over what to wear to auditions in order to be comfortable and present themselves in the best way possible.

Audition Etiquette and Confidence Building

Students will walk through the audition process and go over needed materials. We will then go over proper etiquette and how to conduct oneself within an audition.

Open Workshop

During this session, students will have the opportunity to work with experienced high school students. These volunteers will help the students add the final touches to their auditions!

Mock Audition

Students will be given the chance to perform their selected song or monologue for a panel of local directors and teachers. These teachers will give them written feedback that will be passed out after the session is completed.

Workshop Schedule

The students will start off on Monday, March 1st with a workshop on picking a song or monologue. They will then have a week to practice and memorize their selected piece. The next week of workshops will focus on creating the physical pieces for an audition and adding finishing touches to their selected pieces. They will then have the opportunity to perform their selected piece for a panel of directors. The students will also receive written feedback after the audition!
