About

What is Mastering The Audition?

Mastering The Audition is a free workshops for sixth through eighth graders to hone and master their audition skills. Over a two week period and six workshops, students will work on all of the different aspects of a theatrical audition, from picking a piece to what shoes to wear! Students will also get the opportunity to work on their audition pieces with volunteer theatre students! At the end of the second week, students will get to participate in a mock audition featuring local directors and teachers!

Why was Mastering The Audition created?

Hello! My name is Stella and I am the creator of the Mastering The Audition workshop series. I am a senior in high school and an ambassador girl scout. I created Mastering The Audition for my Girl Scout Gold Award. Performing has always been one of my passions and I love getting to share that love with others. As I progressed throughout high school I came to understand the importance of auditioning. More importantly I learned that value of the skills needed for auditioning. Those same skills helped me through college interviews, job interviews, and the council interview that was required to get this project approved. I decided that I wanted to help younger students master these skills before they get to high school so that they are ready for anything that comes their way. I hope that you find these workshops helpful, and that you are able to Master the Audition!
