It is our pleasure to announce that the 2024 Massey Family Reunion will be hosted in Macon, Ga from July 18th to July 21st.
Macon, the "Cherry Blossom Capital of the World" is the location of our 2018 reunion and is not too far from our ancestral hometown of Gordon, Ga.
We did it big in our "Nations Capital" of DC in 2022. This time let's slow it down and return to our roots.
Lawrence "Kenny" Massey is a retired Army Veteran and Cleveland Municipal School District teacher. He loves teaching and has spent numerous hours pursuing his field of studies. Kenny has received degrees from El Paso Community College, University of Maryland and various others.
He truly appreciates his Religious Studies degree in his walk with God. Kenny is a Sunday School and Bible Study teacher. He is also a Deacon and was ordained a Minister in 1980 at Irvington Baptist Church in Indiana.
Kenny has been the Finance Chair for 2 reunions.
Kenny is married to Loretta (Harris) Massey and have 2 children and 7 grandchildren. Kenny and Loretta live in Chesterfield, VA. Kenny is the son of Walter Massey. Grandson of Jesse Massey and Grandson of Burrell Massey.
Sarah Massey was born in Winson Salem, North Carolina and raised in Macon, GA where she graduated from Northeast Magnet High School. Upon graduation she attended THE Savannah State University as the first Presidential Scholar in the school's history. Sarah has a BS in Electonics Engineering Technology. and a Master's in Business Administration. Sarah has worked in civil design and construction management for over 20 years. She enjoys graphic design and plays piano. Sarah has been the Communications Chair for all three family reunions and has contributed IMMENSELY to the production and communication of reunion media.
Sarah Massey is the youngest daughter of Rev James D Massey, Jr and Alice (Taylor) Massey. She is the Granddaughter of James D Massey, Sr and Great Grand of Toney Massey.
Hi, I am Reggie Gadson and I'm from Savannah, GA where I have lived most of my life. I'm married and have 4 beautiful kids and 1 grandchild. I've been working in retail for the last 30 years and recently transitioned into working for the City of Savannah. I love fishing, spending time with family and most of all (at my age) taking naps....
I was chosen to be on the committee because I want to continue our family legacy and hope to host the reunion in Savannah one year.
Reggie is the son of Elnora Gadson. Grandson of James Massey, Sr. and Great Grandson of Toney Massey.
Carolyn (Norwood) Williams is a retired registered nurse. She grew up in Gordon, GA. Graduated from Wilkinson County Senior High and Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA.
She enjoys singing, dancing, playing Bingo and enjoy interacting with people.
She is on the committee to help the family learn who we are and where we came from.
Carolyn has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Carolyn lives in Hinesville, GA and is the daughter of James D Massey, Sr. Granddaughter of Toney Massey.
