Creating a game concept with my narrative design group. The idea was to develop a story, characters and a game concept around the event of the "Bazar de la Charité", a catastrophic fire that took place in Paris in the 19th century.
After researching this historical event, we looked for points of "resonance" between the society of the time and our own in order to find parallels that would engage players with our story.
We then wrote the "Narrative Voice", the "Narrative Focus Chart", the "Characters Motivation", the structure of our story and the "Procedural Rhetoric" (or Karmic Loop).
Finally, we produced a graph of the "user experience'", in order to draw a parallel between the different "layers" of the game and its narrative across the different acts.
