This session helps educators and school leaders explore how strategic community partnerships can address barriers to attendance and foster student engagement. Participants will discuss how to collaborate with local agencies, nonprofits, and businesses to provide wraparound supports that meet students' academic, social, and health needs.
This session focuses on Tier 3 interventions for students who have missed 20% or more of the school year. Participants will explore how intensive, individualized supports can help restore academic progress and rebuild social connections. The discussion will include strategies for developing personalized success plans, leveraging cross-sector partnerships, and implementing holistic approaches that prioritize engagement over punitive measures.
This session will examine effective Tier 2 strategies for reducing barriers to attendance among students who are at higher risk for chronic absenteeism and for increasing overall student engagement. Participants will explore data‑driven methods for identifying students in need of additional support, designing individualized student success plans, and implementing evidence‑based interventions.
The session will also provide dedicated planning time for school teams to analyze their current practices—such as problem‑solving processes, data use, and team priorities—and to identify actionable next steps for strengthening schoolwide systems that improve attendance outcomes.
This session helps educators and school leaders design and implement Tier 1 strategies that promote positive conditions for learning and prevent absenteeism before it impacts achievement. Participants will explore foundational practices that create a welcoming, engaging school climate and encourage consistent attendance for all students.
The session will equip educators and school leaders with strategies to organize and sustain effective attendance or success teams that reduce chronic absenteeism and improve student outcomes. Participants will explore the five core functions of an attendance team (organize, examine, identify, mobilize, monitor) organizing a multi-tiered strategy, examining data, identifying barriers, mobilizing the school community, and monitoring progress—and learn how these align with a whole-school approach to equity and engagement.
This session will guide educators in examining the underlying factors that contribute to chronic absenteeism. By understanding these root causes, teams can design targeted interventions that promote equity and improve student attendance and engagement.
